RISING STAR GAMES TEAMS WITH MINDSCAPE

Sorcery Saga: Curse of the Great Curry God for PlayStation®Vita and Hometown Story for Nintendo 3DS™ confirmed for regional retail release

Sydney, Australia, 19 June 2014 – Global video games publisher Rising Star Games and Mindscape, a leading games and software distributor, have announced a partnership to bring two of Rising Star Games’ recent top games to Australian and New Zealand retailers.

Sorcery Saga: Curse of the Great Curry God for PlayStation®Vita tells the tale of Pupuru, an aspiring sorceress on a quest to save her friend’s small curry restaurant from the big bad curry chain that’s moved into the neighbourhood. A classically-inspired combination of dungeon crawling gameplay and Japanese RPG storytelling, Sorcery Saga sees players delve into ever-changing dungeons on the hunt for magical ingredients, fighting monsters and using curry-powered magic in gameplay reminiscent of the Mystery Dungeon style of rogue-like action that’s popular throughout Japan.

Developed by Yasuhiro Wada, the ‘Father of Harvest Moon’, and his studio TOYBOX in Tokyo, Japan, Hometown Story for Nintendo 3DS family systems is a joyous tale that takes players to a fantastic new world full of colour and fun. With characters designed by Atsuko Nishida – the artist behind Pokémon – and music composed by Nobuo Uematsu of Final Fantasy fame, this trio of collective talent brings alive an experience on Nintendo 3DS guarantees to delight gamers both young and old alike. With an exciting mix of adventure, discovery and wonder, Hometown Story offers gameplay paralleled by only a few other titles, such as the critically acclaimed Harvest Moon series.

“Rising Star Games’ main goal is to bring exciting and unique games to as many people around the world as possible, so being able to work with Mindscape only helps to extend the reach of our releases even further,” said Martin Defries, MD of Rising Star Games. “Hometown Story and Sorcery Saga are two great titles and knowing that gamers in the ANZ region can now enjoy them too is fantastic news.”

“We are really excited to welcome Rising Star Games to our already stellar line up of games partners.  Their diverse range of titles is very popular amongst gamers and we look forward to releasing more games in the future.” said Tonia Velasco, COO of Mindscape Asia Pacific.

Sorcery Saga: Curse of the Great Curry God and Hometown Story will both be available in July from EB Games, JB Hi-Fi and independent game retailers for $59.95.
