Optus partners with realme to bring the C3 to Aussies from 18th May

realme, the fastest growing smartphone brand globally, has today announced a partnership with established telecom Optus. This new partnership will see the C3, the gateway to non stop entertainment, become available as a prepaid Optus device.

Aussies across the country will be able to purchase the device online and in-store across all retailers that offer Optus prepaid smartphones, including Yes Optus, Kmart, Big W, Target,  Australia Post, Woolworths* and Coles.**

Commenting on the Optus partnership, realme Managing Director Andy Yang, says: “This business development represents an incredibly exciting step forward for realme. Partnering with one of Australia’s leading telecommunications companies demonstrates our determination to expand further into the Australian market. It remains our priority to ensure Aussie consumers are armed with smartphones that have the latest and most impressive features all for a competitive price, and by working with Optus, this will enable us to connect with more consumers across the country.”

This new partnership marks the first move in realme’s plans to ensure the realme smartphone range becomes available for customers to purchase offline. Since launching in May 2018, realme has grown steadily in the global smartphone market. It has increased its growth by 157% year-on-year, obtaining 35 million global users worldwide and selling 10 million smartphones since January alone. According to the results of Counterpoint Research on Smartphone Shipment Market Share Q1 2020, realme maintains a top 7 ranking of smartphone brands globally.

As realme continues to grow its presence, its product range has also expanded. The C3 is the latest addition to the C-series range. It comes equipped with a massive 5000mAh battery, impressive 6.5” mini-drop fullscreen display and triple AI camera to fulfill all user needs.

Erin Guinan, Prepaid Devices Manager at Optus, added: “We are thrilled to announce our partnership with realme with the launch of the C3. We look forward to working with realme in offering Australians high quality devices at a price point everyone can enjoy.
