New Samsung Printing Technology Transforms its Enterprise Solution Through Speed, Convergence and Quality

Sydney, AUSTRALIA – July 7, 2015 – Samsung Electronics Australia is taking a major step toward addressing demand for enterprise office convergence, with the introduction of a new Samsung solution that helps businesses build smart offices with easy connectivity for great efficiency.

Leveraging its strengths in mobility and its ability to develop products that bring together a wide range of advanced technology, Samsung is launching its brand new A3 multi-function printer, MultiXpress 7 (MX7), to transform work processes in Samsung printing and document management. Simple to use, it is designed for productivity and to help businesses drive efficiency in printing.

“With the adoption of mobile technology in enterprise businesses across Australia, there is demand for printing solutions that can utilise the mobile experience and help streamline printing workflow. With the MX7, we’ve combined fast printing speeds with advanced Samsung connectivity that is flexible and user-friendly” said Todd Lynton, Director of Enterprise & Small Medium Business, Samsung Electronics Australia. “The MX7’s AndroidTM platform offers the ability to install personalised and customisable applications that can support day-to-day work processes for smart working and great efficiency.”*

The new MX7 is exceptionally fast and is the only Samsung A3 printer that is powered by a Quadcore CPU. The use of a Quadcore CPU allows the device to power through documents, faxes, and scans with speed. It also boasts a newly improved Samsung Smart UX 2.0 which lets users preview and edit compatible files directly from the on-board printer screen before printing.

Part of Samsung’s growing 2015 print portfolio, the MX7 launch marks an important step towards more mobile-centric print solutions, an area Samsung is well placed to address through its experience in smartphones and tablets.

Efficiency and productivity for enterprise customers

The MX7’s Quadcore CPU and dual scan document feeder (+DSDF) is designed to increase efficiency and reduce wait times compared to previous Samsung models. The MX7 takes approximately 18 seconds to boot and around 12 seconds to ‘wake up’ from sleep mode. It also produces up to 1200 dpi printing resolution.

The MX7 also offers a significant reduction in scan time (against previous Samsung printers), with a scan speed of up to 120 single-sided images per minute, and up to 240 double-sided images. It also supports fast in-office connections with an 802.11ac-capable network chip, which has a theoretical speed that is three times faster than the older 802.11n standard used in previous Samsung printers. The MX7 also offers Bluetooth Low Energy connectivity, giving users “always-on” connectivity, so they can connect and print with ease soon after they are in close proximity to a compatible device.

Providing a smart and secure working environment with Samsung Smart UX 2.0

The MX7 features a 10.1-inch AndroidTM-powered display that runs the Samsung Smart UX 2.0 platform. Users can pivot the user-friendly Smart UX Center display for scalable document views, and customise the experience with apps available for download from Samsung’s own printer app store. Enterprise users can select from a variety of smart apps designed to support their business operations, including Workbook Composer and Smart Service.*

The Samsung Smart UX Center has a Workspace Cloud feature that provides document views and edits on compatible mobile devices, providing working environment versatility^. For smart security, enterprise users can benefit from the Tray Locking Kit, a unique digital security feature that secures printed paperwork by only letting authorised personnel print confidential documents when they’re in close proximity to the device.

Powerful performance for a heavy work environment

The MX7 is designed to be capable of printing up to 300,000 pages a month, and works with large toner cartridges that give users approximately 30,000 pages in colour or 45,000 pages in mono. Other time-saving add-ons (sold separately) include an automated document stapler capable of stapling up to 60 standard sheets of paper or an 80-page booklet.
