Fender x Teufel Rockster Go 2: Review

Fender x Teufel Rockster Go 2: Review Paul Stuart
Overall

Summary: The Fender x Teufel Rockster Go is arguably the best value on the market for a portable, durable speaker with exceptional aesthetic, build quality, and bass power.

Portable Excellence

As a portable speaker obsessive, I was beyond keen to get my hands on the new Fender x Teufel Rockster Go 2.

Most have heard of Fender, the legendary guitar manufacturer and its associated audio equipment (notably amplifiers). Teufel is a lot less a household name, being a legacy German audio company. In 2024, they joined forces to create a range of mid‑upper‑level speakers.

New to this collaboration, I’m admittedly floored. The Rockster Go 2 is an outstanding offering at this price point ($100 USD). Specifically, it’s head and shoulders above only just slightly less expensive generic offerings in every way. Aesthetically, everything on the Rockster Go 2 looks like a Fender amp. Which is beyond cool.

To begin, build quality is exceptional. Everything about the Rockster Go 2 is solid, including the very durable and large access and back buttons, speaker grill, base with rubberized legs, plug port, and central woofer (more on this below). Not surprisingly, it is IP67 compliant for temperature and liquid resistance. Kudos to Fender for logically placing the USB‑C power port where it should reside (bottom right side, to not interfere with access).

Sound quality is… wow. This sucker is LOUD! Teufel’s proprietary Dynamore technology (available from a top button press or app) does a stellar job of filling a room via simulated spatial audio. It certainly ranks favorably with similar technology Bose is famously known for.

While the Teufel Go iOS app can be buggy, it provides oodles of additional audio features. In addition to making everything on the speaker hands‑free, it offers pre‑set equalizer settings and a custom function. There’s likewise a power saver option to extend battery life (at limited volume and lesser quality) for up to nearly 30(!) hours. Last, if you want to pair a second Rockster Go 2 for stereo, this option is here, in tandem.

The star of the show is the central bass radiator and associated bass drivers. The central radiator will literally thump away when the bass is turned up high in dramatic fashion. It’s unheard of for a portable speaker to possess such native, powerful bass, and the Rockster Go 2 owns it like a champ.

I had a blast messing with all the Rockster Go 2 equalizer settings on everything Apple Music had to offer, and got fantastic results for all. This truly is the rare portable speaker that sounds like a much larger one. Truth be told, the Rockster Go 2 has me longing to try the larger Fender x Teufel line.

Portability is similarly easy. The included stretchable strap is of the highest quality, perfect to hang on something or grab with your hand. Size is just right; not too big or small.

Final Thoughts

The Fender x Teufel Rockster Go 2 is arguably the best portable Bluetooth speaker at its price point, period. The incredible build quality, Dynamore spatial audio, and central bass combine to make this gorgeous Fender homage a must-buy.
