LASER SMASHES THROUGH SMARTHOME PRICE BARRIER WITH DIY RANGE AT BIG W

LASER, Australia’s home-grown consumer electronics success story, has today announced that its LASER SmartHome brand will be available in Big W stores nationwide as part of a joint effort to deliver easy-to-install and affordable smart home options into Australian homes. Specifically designed to be up and running in minutes, the range will be on-shelf from tomorrow and will see LASER SmartHome products reduce previous RRPs across the range, and with a further 20% off.

This means a smart door bell for less than $100, a smart Full HD Camera for $39 and smart lighting from just $8. It reinforces LASER’s position as a leading smart home supplier in Australia focused on making products more accessible than ever before both through price leadership and a true DIY focus.

The range has been carefully curated by both LASER and Big W to ensure it offers the ultimate in easy, DIY installation for set-and-forget use, and includes lighting, security, and power options for every home. Every product can be easily set up straight out of the box in just a few minutes by scanning a simple QR code. There is no need for long complicated instructions or hardwiring with the extra cost and inconvenience of electricians or handymen. This means battery-powered cameras can be placed exactly where required, without the need to accommodate extension cords or wiring, and light bulbs and downlights can be easily switched out in place of existing fittings.

“We have always been ‘laser’-focused on driving prices down in this category, and our range in Big W is testament to how far the smart home category has come in just a few short years,” says Chris Lau, Managing Director of Laser Co.

“Not long ago a single smart light bulb would have cost upwards of $40 each, and we can now offer Australian families far more value such that they are essentially not paying any extra to ‘go smart’. In fact these days you can get a wide combination of smart products and create a true smart home by bundling light bulbs, power plugs and maybe even a smart security camera for under $100.”

Compatible with Amazon Alexa, and a Certified Google partner, Australians can control their home electronics seamlessly via voice command or as standalone products controlled via the LASER SmartHome app (Android/iOS). Laser SmartHome connects straight to your Wi-Fi – no hub required, so consumers are free to mix and match products and brands as they wish. All of Laser’s Smarthome range have passed strict EMC standards, carry the electrical safety mark and are suitable for Australian households.
