Reolink launches Solar Floodlight Camera: redefining outdoor security

Reolink, a global leader in smart security solutions, has today announced the launch of the Solar Floodlight Cam, completing Reolink’s full range of floodlight solutions. The camera is available now from Reolink.com and Amazon for $179.99 AUD. Launching ahead of Earth Day on April 22nd, the Solar Floodlight Cam reflects growing global demand for sustainable, solar-powered home security that does not compromise on performance or brightness.

Featuring a powerful 2K (4MP) HD camera, 1000-lumen floodlights and intelligent AI detection with a self-sustaining solar design, the Solar Floodlight Cam has been designed for homeowners looking for high-level security without the hassle of complicated installation and ongoing maintenance.

While traditional floodlight cameras require complex wiring and fixed installation points, the Solar Floodlight Cam is equipped with an integrated solar panel and 7,800mAh battery, which work together to deliver reliable, everyday protection to homes, without the need for complex wiring.

Powered by Reolink’s SolarEase™ Enhanced Solar Technology, just one hour of sunlight powers the Solar Floodlight Cam for an entire day and even supports further illumination at night*. With up to 26% charging efficiency (nearly 20% more efficient than previous solar panel generations) SolarEase™ delivers stable charging even in low-light conditions as low as 1,000 lux, and continues to provide power under partial shade from leaves or trees. As a result, a full charge can last for up to three months without solar input, eliminating the need for constant recharging.*

The Solar Floodlight Cam captures ultra-sharp 2K video with a 150° wide field of view, giving a clear picture of activity in driveways, doorways, and outdoor spaces such as gardens. On-device AI distinguishes between people, animals and vehicles, adjusting the floodlight’s brightness accordingly – for example, brightening to deter intruders, and dimming for pets or wildlife. A built-in 110 dB Siren can also be activated when needed, providing extra peace of mind for homeowners.

The Solar Floodlight Cam’s live feed is delivered entirely through the Reolink App, where users can also customise lighting levels, receive instant alerts and communicate through two-way audio in real time. It also integrates seamlessly with the Reolink Home Hub and Reolink NVR, making it easy to expand into a full home security system.

Speaking about the launch, Nick Nigro, Vice President – Australasia at Reolink, said: “The Solar Floodlight Cam is a breakthrough addition to our Floodlight Series”.

“At Reolink, we believe security should adapt to your home, not the other way around. The Solar Floodlight Cam sets a new standard in the outdoor security space, delivering the powerful brightness of a floodlight without needing to be hardwired. It is a user-focused solution developed to make home security smarter, simpler and more reliable.”

The launch of the Solar Floodlight Cam comes as more households around the world look for sustainable ways to protect their homes. By drawing on the same SolarEase™ technology used in more than 616,000 Reolink solar panels sold in 2025, which helped avoid an estimated 67.452 tons of CO₂ emissions in 2025 alone, the Solar Floodlight Cam gives homeowners a security option that fits with a lower-impact, solar-powered home. For households focused on sustainability, this means their security lighting runs on clean energy and supports a more efficient, climate-conscious home without sacrificing safety.

The Solar Floodlight Cam will be available to purchase at The Good Guys and Bunnings over the coming weeks. For more information, please visit www.reolink.com
