Due to popular demand, the MSO today announced a fourth and final performance of An Evening on Broadway, with a special Public Holiday matinee at 1pm on Friday 26 September.

In this extraordinary celebration of musical theatre classics, the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and acclaimed West End stars Amy Manford and Josh Piterman will relive timeless hits from blockbuster musicals including Les Misérables, The Phantom of the Opera, West Side Story, Evita, and Cats.

Led by award-winning conductor Jessica Gethin, the exceptional voices of Manford and Piterman will join forces with the MSO to elevate these beloved Broadway hits and create an electric atmosphere that promises to leave audiences spellbound.

Australian/American soprano Amy Manford is best known globally for her performance as Christine Daaé in The Phantom of the Opera, both in Australia and the original West End production in London. She regularly performs around the world as a special guest with Classical Crossover legend Andrea Bocelli, and earlier this year joined crossover cellist, Hauser on his North American tour.

Amy was awarded ‘Creative of the Year’ at the 2023 Marie Claire Women of the Year awards and has sung at iconic events such as the 2021 AFL Grand Final in Australia and for King Charles at Buckingham Palace in London. Amy most recently performed with the MSO in the sold-out Disney in Concert in March, which she also co-produced.

Josh Piterman is an established musical theatre performer and classical crossover artist with credits spanning West Side Story, Blood Brothers, Cats (a role that won him the Green Room Award for best supporting actor in a Musical), Hairspray (UK Tour) and the Australian tour of Beautiful: The Carole King Musical. After making his critically acclaimed West End debut as the Phantom in 2019, a role he reprised at the Sydney Opera House and Arts Centre Melbourne in 2022/23, Josh returned to London in 2023 to star as Jean Valjean in the West End production of Les Misérables. Josh was also an early member of international pop opera group The Ten Tenors. This is Josh’s second appearance with the MSO following the successful Performance of a Lifetime concert in 2021.

The celebratory concerts, An Evening on Broadway, will also feature hits from Sunset Boulevard, Carousel, The King and I and more.
