The Melbourne International EV AutoShow Returns

The Melbourne International EV AutoShow Returns for a Third Year After Storming Sydney with over 30,000 Attendees

This June, the Melbourne International EV AutoShow (MIEVS) will return for a third year, following record attendances in Sydney last November presented by Future Drive AutoShows. The show provides electric vehicle enthusiasts and the inquisitive with a unique opportunity to see over 100 vehicles under one roof, including new energy vehicles (plug-ins, BEVs and hybrids). A few featured EV brands include Xpeng, Polestar, Leapmotor, Farizon and SMART and many more. Show cars on display include the Ferrari 296 GTB and Ferrari SF90, and the never-before-seen in Australia Rolls-Royce Spectre.

In exciting news, the Melbourne International EV AutoShow has also confirmed the following EVs will be on display, including the Xpeng G6, Audi Q4 etron, Audi Q6 etron, Farizon SV (van), Farizon F1E (small truck), Leapmotor C10, Smart #1, Smart #3, KIA EV3, and the Polestar 4. Sustainable Vehicle Solutions will display the Ford F-150. Key features for this year’s show include free test drives available onsite, finance options covering leasing, funding and charging solutions, including new ultra-fast charging and budget-friendly options.

“Future Drive is proud to bring the show back to Melbourne,” said Ray Evans, CEO of Future Drive AutoShows. “With growing government support and new incentives accelerating EV adoption, there’s never been a better time for individuals and businesses alike to explore the benefits of switching to cleaner, smarter transport.”

With the cost of living showing no signs of slowing down, an electric vehicle (EV) is a sensible option for saving on transportation. With EVs ranging in price from $29,990 through to $58,900 for many of the popular models, driving an EV is now an affordable reality for many. The show offers a unique opportunity to see just how easy it is to transition to a greener form of transportation with savings to be made across the board.

“For many electric vehicle owners it is now possible to fully charge your car for under $5 and conveniently at home,” said Riz Akhtar, founder of EV data company carloop, “with the purchase of your EV you now have the option to buy a charger with the vehicle or other charging options are now as low as $500 to install at home saving you time and money.”

With over 4M Australians now using rooftop solar, interest in Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) technology continues to grow. At the Sydney International EV Show 2025, Minister for Climate Change and Energy Chris Bowen announced new standards for vehicle-to-home (V2H) and vehicle-to-grid (V2G) charging. These new standards allow Australian EV owners to power their homes using their cars and to sell excess energy back to the grid during peak periods. The Melbourne International EV Show will educate enthusiasts on how they can take advantage of this incentive when purchasing an EV. With a $2.3 billion battery stimulus also announced, and more than 50% of current EV owners expressing interest in V2G, the show offers a timely opportunity to explore how this technology can be applied.

“Using your EV to eliminate electricity bills will transform Australia’s power grid, accelerating the retirement of our ageing, costly coal plants for good,” said Sam Evans, EV expert and influencer known as The Electric Viking. “Vehicle-to-grid (V2G) technology will revolutionise our country by democratising energy, empowering millions of Australians to achieve true energy independence. Visit the Melbourne EV Autoshow and discover how you can join this groundbreaking movement.”

Additionally, the Victorian government is aiming for half of all light vehicles to have zero emissions by 2030 with serious incentives to convert drivers. Nationally, incentives include a 2.3 billion injection for home batteries, which will come as good news for EV drivers keen to create a 360-degree use of clean energy from road to home. Fringe benefit tax deductions, particularly from those leasing vehicles, provide more incentive to go green on our roads. Additionally, the federal government is helping more Australians with discounted loans for electric vehicles with $150 million promised through lending institutions.

“EVs are the future, and now is the time to embrace this cleaner, more affordable, tech-driven form of transportation,” said Ray Evans, CEO of Future Drive AutoShows. “We’re excited to welcome even more Australians who are making the switch to EVs and looking to learn, explore, and experience what’s next in the automotive space.”

Highlights of the show include free test drives, interactive product displays, demonstrations, EV live sessions and fun activities for the whole family, including an electric go-kart track. The main stage will feature daily talks and panel discussions from EV experts, industry leaders and influencers sharing insights, innovations and future trends. Exhibitors will present charging options, latest releases and new models, finance and a vehicle for every budget. Industry experts and guest speakers include Andy Larmour, Principal Tax Director, National Lead for EV Tax – KPMG, Jason Clarke, CEO, TrueEV, Scott Maynard, Managing Director – Polestar Australia, Ross De Rango – Director, Vehicle Charging Solutions Australia, Andrea Persico – EV Charging Specialist, Amped Consulting, Sam Korkees – Co-Founder, EVSE Australia, Matthew van der Linden – CEO, Flow Power, Harman Singh – Smart Cities and Digital Solutions Lead, GHD Digital and Emma Sutcliffe – Director, EV FireSafe.

Future Drive Australia is proud to announce this year’s official show ambassadors: Sam Evans (@ElectricViking), Tom Gan (@LudicrousFeed), and Riz Akhtar, founder of Carloop. With lower running costs, advanced technology, and strong environmental benefits, electric vehicles are becoming more accessible than ever. As government incentives continue and prices fall, now is the perfect time to plan your visit to the Melbourne International EV Show and be part of the shift to a cleaner, smarter future.

“I’m looking forward to attending the Melbourne International EV AutoShow as it will be a valuable opportunity to hear from experts on developments in EV battery technology, Vehicle-to-Grid integration, and the role of energy storage in our broader energy system.” Said Tom Gan, EV Expert and host of Ludicrous Feed. “I’m also keen to see the latest range of electric vehicles on display – including models from China that are helping shape global EV trends. As Australia navigates the shift toward broader EV adoption, the Melbourne International EV AutoShow offers a clear lens into the technologies, policies, and vehicles driving that transition.”

Future Drive AutoShows will present the 2025 Melbourne International EV Show between 27 – 29 June at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre and the Light Commercial Motor Show in Sydney between 7 – 10 August in Sydney at ICC Sydney.
