Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows flies onto the NDS

22 October 2010, Australia – The EA Play Label of Electronic Arts Inc. and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment are working hard to create handheld magic in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows™ – Part 1 for the Nintendo DS. The game will deliver an action-packed adventure, loaded with frantic combat against fierce adversaries and a myriad of challenges to uncover.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part I for the DS drops players into the role of Harry Potter™ as he undertakes a dangerous quest to locate and destroy Voldemort’s™ Horcruxes. With Ron and Hermione by their side, players will need to muster their most powerful magic against relentless assaults from the likes of Death Eaters and Snatchers.

As in the upcoming film, the DS version places Harry outside of Hogwarts’™ protective walls for the first time as he tries to elude Voldemort’s grip. As players venture through diverse new environments, they must look to Ron and Hermione for help; combining their varied powers at just the right moment to escape the grasp of the Dark Forces. Each environment will introduce new enemies, puzzles to solve and quests to complete. This time the danger is real. It’s time for players to fight for their lives.

Additionally, players can fight the ultimate battle in the game’s multi-player mode. Choose to fight it out against family and friends, assuming the role of either Harry or a fearsome Dementor™ as they battle to achieve the highest score, and determine once and for all whether good will triumph over evil.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1 will be available on the Nintendo DS from 18 November and is rated PG by the OFLC.

Sydney, Australia – October 22 2010 – At the 6th Annual AMD Technical Forum & Exhibition 2010, AMD showcased for its ecosystem partners the first public demonstration of the forthcoming AMD Fusion Accelerated Processing Unit (APU) codenamed “Llano,” designed for notebook, ultrathin and desktop PCs. AMD demonstrated the accelerated single-chip processing muscle of Llano by simultaneously processing three separate compute-and graphics-intensive workloads.

“The serial and powerful parallel processing capability of the Llano APU has the potential to make OEMs and consumers re-think their computing experience,” said Chris Cloran, corporate vice president and general manager, client division, AMD. “The experience potential of Llano is truly incredible, and the demos we showed today on stage provide a glimpse of what this processor is capable of delivering in sleek form factors with long battery life. The Llano APU demo showed three compute-intensive workloads simultaneously on Microsoft Windows® 7, including calculating the value of Pi to 32 million decimal places, and decoding HD video from a Blu-ray™ disc. Running concurrent to the CPU and HD video playback applications, Microsoft’s nBody DirectCompute application is shown achieving around 30 GFLOPS (as reported in the application) a relative measure of the available capacity to post-process video during playback, play a DirectX11 game, or assist the CPU cores to accelerate a non-graphics application. The demonstration represents a preview of Llano’s raw compute power enabling new levels of experience computing that AMD aims to bring to mainstream PC users in 2011.

Space Channel 5 Part 2 follows famed reporter and dancer Ulala as she battles the Rhythm Rogues—a group of villains led by the mysterious Purge and his right-hand man Shadowin. Players will need to help Ulala move and “chu chu chu” her way to victory before they succeed in taking over the universe with their ultimate dance-control weapon.

Meanwhile gamers will be hooked on SEGA Bass Fishing, reeling in sporting enthusiasts and hardcore gamers alike! This realistic 3-D bass fishing simulation shines with eight fishing environments and fourteen different lures.

ANNOUNCED: UBISOFT RELEASES CSI: CRIME CITY FACEBOOK GAME.

Sydney, Australia – October 21, 2010 – Ubisoft® and CBS Consumer Products announced today the release of an all-new social game based on the world’s most watched television drama – CSI: Crime Scene Investigation™. CSI: Crime Scene Investigation™: Crime City will be available from October 21, 2010. The game was developed by Area/Code, an independent game development studio founded in 2005 and based in New York.

In CSI: Crime City the player is a CSI dropped in the middle of a teeming metropolis and is challenged to solve difficult murders to bring criminals to justice. Players can explore crime scenes, earn virtual currency and build their very own CSI Lab. They can play alongside their favourite characters while exploring cool Las Vegas locations such as casinos, nightclubs, hotel suites, the desert and the Las Vegas strip.
