Eagerly anticipated Killzone™: Mercenary for PlayStation®Vita on shelf now

Sydney, 4 September, 2013: Sony Computer Entertainment Australia (SCE Aust.) is today celebrating the release of Killzone™: Mercenary, exclusive to PlayStation®Vita (PS Vita). The highly anticipated title, which brings the Killzone™ franchise to PS Vita, arrives in stores across Australia today.

To mark the game’s launch, PlayStation® Australia searched the country to find its very own Ultimate Recruit. Echoing the storyline of Killzone: Mercenary, the recruitment hunt was for someone willing to give up their allegiances for the money and to write their own rules for a Killzone: Mercenary contract.

Applications saw potential recruits promise to jump out of planes in tuxedoes, carry out covert missions in the US, legally change their name and even remove hair from half their body to score the big pay cheque. PlayStation Australia’s chosen recruit, Queenslander John Creed, was selected based on creativity, originality, skill and passion for the Killzone franchise and PS Vita.

Out now, with a recommended retail price of AUD$54.95, Killzone: Mercenary for PS Vita is the fifth title in the franchise. Showcasing PS Vita’s capability of delivering a first-person-shooter experience on a hand held device, the game sees you take on the role of veteran UCN soldier, Arran Danner, now a battle hardened mercenary-for-hire.  Killzone: Mercenary throws you into a deadly fire fight as part of a ruthless faction and the hardened mercenary is forced to question whether the price of victory can sometimes be too high, no matter how big the pay cheque.
