Conveniently cable-free, BenQ unveil their W1500 – The world’s first 5Ghz Wireless Full HD 1080p 3D Projector

20 August 2013 – Sydney Australia: It’s short-throw, 3D, Full HD 1080p and here’s the best part – it’s wireless. BenQ’s latest Home Entertainment offering, the W1500 Projector, is a world first 5Ghz Full HD wireless wonder.

Easy to set up with low maintenance, BenQ boast the W1500 is the answer to uncompromised home entertainment. Retailing for just $2199.00 it will be available from late August 2013.

Equipped with world-leading 5Ghz Wireless Full HD, the W1500 brings cable-free convenience to home entertainment enabling wireless 2D and 3D HD video and audio streaming from a diverse range of multimedia sources with HDMI interface, from notebook computers to Blu-ray DVD players, gaming consoles and smart devices. This versatility, coupled with short-throw projection capability, two built-in 10W speakers, 1.6X big zoom and vertical lens shift, the W1500 makes the perfect coffee table projector suitable for any room in the house.

Said BenQ Australia’s Managing Director, Martin Moelle, “It’s Full HD and visually spectacular, putting cinema quality video in the hands of any novice with no installation and no set-up hassles. It requires only to place the projector on a table, direct it at a suitable wall, adjust the image effortlessly with the vertical lens shift for your preferred image size and ‘hey presto’,” he said.

The W1500 is built with a 5Ghz Wireless Full HD interface for uncompressed video streaming from any HDMI output device within a maximum range of 20 metres. Built-in 10W speakers with SRS WOW HDTM for a dynamic 3D audio experience and short-throw capabilities provides an 84” big screen at 2 metres.

When it comes to 3D entertainment, the W1500 supports popular 3D timing and HDMI 1.4a mandatory 3D, allowing viewing of 3D content directly from Blu-ray players or satellite. You can also play 3D games with the PS3. It is also NVIDIA 3DTV-supported to display 3D content via PC powered by NVIDIA chip, such as games, apps, videos, photos, 3DVisionLive.com and Blu-ray 3D. You can even turn 2D content into 3D using the 2D-to-3D conversion feature.

Said Moelle, “The W1500 delivers colours so real that it reflects what the human eye perceives with a native Rec 709 colour gamut and is ISFccc®-certified for professional calibration customisation services. In short, what this means is that the W1500 is modelled on one of the highest HD video standards seen in professional-grade home projectors today.

“This new projector eliminates the fundamental challenges of purchasing, owning and enjoying a projector,” said Moelle. “At BenQ we feel everyone should enjoy big screen entertainment in the comfort of their own home, and this new projector is giving everyone the opportunity to do just that. The projector requires no installation, is easy to set up and use and comes at an amazing price,” he said.
