Tubbz Cosplaying Ducks Review

Tubbz Cosplaying Ducks Review Andrew Bistak
Score

Summary:

5

Well aren’t these the cutest darn things that you have ever seen and if you’re in the market for an overdose of “cute”, then you have come to the right place thanks to Numskull’s new collection of Tubbz which are cosplaying ducks figures. That’s right, these ducks cosplay (and yes you heard correctly) as they channel a wide range of pop culture and gaming franchises (all licensed), including DC Superheroes, Crash Bandicoot and even Lord of the Rings to name a few.

While at their core, these ducks might look like classic rubber ducks, they are actually wearing the costumes of your favourite characters such as Batman, Moxxi and even Fallout’s Vault Boy. Needless to say, they channel their pop culture or gaming characters perfectly and each cosplaying duck comes with its own stackable box with a matching bathtub shaped display stand. The boxes also come in their franchises respective branding. As a collectible, Numskull should be commended on the packaging!

The other highlight of Tubbz is the professional sculpt that successfully joins “rubber ducks” with “cosplay”, including some (get this)… mighty duck poses! These figures also stand 3.5” inches tall or almost 9cm and are made from PVC with excellent paint work to boo. So before we jump into our review of Eris Morn from Destiny and Dr N Gin from Crash Bandicoot, let’s check what Tubbz figures are currently available from Numskull below;

So as you can see, they ALL look totally COO and more importantly, these are just the first wave and there plenty more Tubbz to come that just like Pokémon, you gotta catch ‘em all! Collectors you have been warned.

Tubbz Destiny Eris Morn

Eris Morn is the sole survivor of the First Crota Fireteam who leaves her post to join the fray in the pond as new legends will quack! For the uninitiated, Eris Morn is a Hunter and a member of the Hidden who serves the Vanguard and helped coordinate the fight against Oryx, the Taken King.

As you can see this Tubbz figure successfully celebrates Eris Morn from Destiny with a kick-ass sculpt and paint work that will make Destiny fans envious of this awesome collectible. There’s also some excellent texture work on this figure.

Tubbz Crash Bandicoot Dr N Gin

Then we have the villainous Cortex’s insane cyborg lackey who really wants to make Ducky Crash’s life a hell and with this figure out of its display packaging, it may very well occur. Like Cortex, Dr N Gin was a student of the Academy of Evil and is best described as insane who really makes poor Crash’s life a hell. Like the Tubbz Eris Morn from Destiny, Dr N Gin is equally impressive with its professional build that looks like he is ready for action. So while both characters look like their video game counterparts, it’s also great that the creators have instilled that rubber ducky appearance which works on so many levels… just like cosplayers I guess?

Final Thoughts?

So who are Tubbz for? I would say everyone but if you want to limit this list, it would be for gamers, pop culture enthusiasts and cosplayers who want to celebrate their passion with these adorable “rubber duckies”.

Highly Recommended!
