Tranya Nova Earbuds Review @TranyaOfficial
Summary: A complete wireless cellphone audio experience with decent build quality and battery life. Perhaps the only issue is the 100$ price tag which might be off-putting for some since it is a pretty new brand in an industry already dominated by fierce competition.
The headphones market these days is flooded with all kinds of devices for all kinds of people and usage. That is why having a dedicated Qualcomm chipset or the latest Bluetooth 5.3 wireless connectivity is not an advantage but a baseline for such devices. With this fact in check, Tranya shipped its new earbuds, Tranya Nova equipped with extraordinary audio features.
Tranya Nova’s first interesting feature is its battery life. Each earbud is equipped with a 45mAh battery and the charging case has a capacity of 400mAh that can roughly charge the earbuds 4 times before it needs recharging. In my test, it took the earbuds 4.5 hours of constant music playback at 50% of the volume and one hour of call before their battery ran dry. The remarkable thing about the battery is how fast it is charged. It only took 15 minutes for the earbuds to reach 70% battery. That makes Tranya Nova a great choice for traveling since it only takes a short charging break before you can get back on track.
The magic of Tranya Nova is in its noise-canceling system. The earbuds have three audio profiles. Ambient mode provides the most situational awareness with the least amount of noise canceling. The Noise Canceling mode as the name suggests provides the best audio quality with the least noise from outside and the Standard mode is something in between. Honestly, I was astonished by the quality of the noise-cancelling mode. It is unbelievable how with a touch of a button, I could literally hear nothing but the music.
I tried to test Tranya Nova’s noise canceling to its limits by putting it against my Creative Sound BlasterX Katana soundbar which is one of the best -if not the best- gaming soundbars out there. I played two different songs on each device and set Sound BlasterX Katana to around 22% of its maximum volume -which is my usual choice when I want to have an immersive gaming experience- while Tranya Nova’s volume was set to around 50% on my OnePlus Nord 2 cellphone. The results were mind-blowing! I could not hear one of the best soundbars in the world sitting at arm’s length right in front of me. The only time the soundbar’s audio could be distinguished was in between songs played by Tranya Nova. The performance of the device and the noise-canceling features are superb and can satisfy even the most hardcore audiophiles out there.
The gaming experience is also top-notch. By installing the Tranya Audio app on the cellphone, a feature called Game Mode can be activated to almost completely take care of audio lag in games. Without it, I experienced noticeable audio lags in all games, but the Game Mode reduces audio response time considerably. The app also allows the customization of the shortcuts on each of the earbuds individually. Each earbud can have up to six shortcuts assigned to it. For example, a single tap on the earbud will pause/play music, a double tap will play the next song, a triple tap for reducing volume, and so on. The fact that each of these touch-sensitive shortcuts can be set individually on each earbud provides superb personalization options suited to everybody’s taste.
The app also allows the user to customize the sound of the earbuds using a virtual equalizer. There is also a “Find My Device” feature that shows the last location of the buds on the map and can make them play some loud noise for easier physical discovery. When talking about the earbuds’ features, it should be added that it has an IPX5 water resistance rating which means it can resist streams of water splash for around 10 to 15. That makes it water-resistant, sweatproof, rainproof, or splashproof but not totally waterproof. The device also supports wireless charging. Another practical feature is the ability to pair each earbud with a different device separately. That means one earbud can be connected to a cellphone and another to a laptop to receive audio from two separate devices at the same time.
Tranya Nova is a great headphone. It is really comfortable to wear with great audio quality and flexible controls. It provides a complete wireless cellphone audio experience with decent build quality and battery life. Perhaps the only issue is the 100$ price tag which might be off-putting for some since it is a pretty new brand in an industry already dominated by fierce competition.
