Send a hug with Alexa

Even with restrictions set to ease over the coming weeks, social distancing will need to be observed for some time. Beyond this, many of us will remain apart from our family and friends who live in different parts of the country until it’s safe to travel. Connection with our loved ones is more important now than ever, and beyond video calls and messages, today Alexa has announced another way to connect with those you care about the most.

From today, customers in Australia can brighten someone’s day by sending their Alexa contacts a hug. Just ask, “Alexa, how do I send a hug” and follow the steps to share a virtual hug with any of your Alexa contacts. In addition, this is not just for family and friends with an Alexa enabled device in Australia, this also works for loved ones overseas who are on your Alexa contacts list.
