Samsung Introduces Factory Calibrated UD970 Professional UHD Monitor covering 99.5% Adobe RGB

Sydney, Australia – 6 November, 2014 – Samsung Electronics Australia has today announced the availability of a new ultra high definition (UHD) PLS monitor, providing excellent colour accuracy for film, design and photography professionals.
Available from today with an RRP of $2499, the slim 31.5-inch UD970 is designed to give creative professionals improved creativity, efficiency and engagement at every stage of the content creation process.

Superior Colour Accuracy and Consistency
Each UD970 monitor is enabled with smooth, precise colour gradation, as well as clear colour in grayscale and white balance. This allows the UD970 to maintain smoother gradation that adjusts the colour without reduction to maximise the monitor’s capabilities. The unique hardware calibration technology provides high class colour precision and accuracy of ΔE≤ 1.0.
As an LED monitor in which 99.5 percent of the Adobe RGB gamut is enabled, the UD970 allows for extremely accurate colour representation to provide decreased output errors and minimised colour disparity when printing. Combined with UHD picture quality, a 16-bit look-up table (LUT) for more detailed tonal transitions, and true 10-bit colour depth which represents 1 billion colours, the monitor presents the ultimate in picture quality. The UD970 also comes equipped with eight different pre-set colour modes to meet the demands of almost any project.
Functional Design to help Improve Work Process
For enhanced multi-tasking and efficiency, the monitor’s dual colour mode allows two different single-colour modes to be displayed on one screen so users can easily view colour comparison of two images simultaneously. Similar to the UD590 UHD monitor released earlier this year, the UD970 integrates a quad picture-by-picture (PBP) function which supports up to four FHD windows on one screen simultaneously.
A dual windows PBP function enables the monitor to be connected to two PCs and have two individual native resolutions showing. Additionally, a separate picture-in-picture (PiP) 2.0 function displays a separate PiP content feed on screen so users can multitask more efficiently.
The monitor’s wide-viewing angle of 178 degrees, along with its ability to tilt, swivel and angle both horizontally and vertically, provides professionals with the optimal viewing experience from any position. Similarly, a VESA-supported wall mount and bezel hood ensures easy screen adjustments.
The UD970 offers multiple connectivity options for greater user flexibility, including: two DisplayPort 1.2 ports, a HDMI 1.4 port, a Mini DP to DP Gender port, two USB 3.0 ports and two supercharging USB 3.0 ports.
