Turtle Beach Stealth Pro 2 Review

The Turtle Beach Stealth Pro 2 is what happens when a gaming headset is designed around features people will genuinely use every day, rather than relying on flashy gimmicks to attract attention. Building upon the foundation of the original Stealth Pro, Turtle Beach has refined the formula with smarter connectivity features, improved usability, outstanding active noise cancellation, and one of the most practical battery systems ever implemented in a wireless gaming headset.

Featuring dual swappable 40-hour rechargeable batteries, active noise cancellation, Hi-Res Audio certification, and cross-platform wireless connectivity, the Stealth Pro 2 is built to deliver a premium gaming and multimedia experience across both PC and Xbox.

Endless Battery Life Done Right

Wireless headsets have always struggled with one major issue: battery life. Most companies attempt to solve the problem with larger internal batteries or fast USB-C charging, but Turtle Beach takes a far more practical approach with the Stealth Pro 2’s swappable battery system.

Unlike most modern electronics, the Stealth Pro 2 uses removable rechargeable battery packs that can be swapped out in seconds. Each battery provides up to 40 hours of usage, with the spare charging inside the included wireless transmitter. Combined, the headset effectively offers around 80 hours of continuous use before either battery needs to be recharged manually.

To put that into perspective, one battery alone lasts long enough to watch the extended editions of all six Lord of the Rings and Hobbit films back-to-back, minus the credits.

What makes the system even more impressive is how seamless it feels in practice. You don’t even need to remove the headset to swap batteries. The magnetic battery cover on the left earcup pops off easily with one hand, allowing the battery to be changed in roughly 30 seconds. Once replaced, the headset reconnects almost instantly as if nothing happened.

It’s one of those features that sounds simple on paper but completely transforms the experience of owning a wireless headset.

Audio That Completely Changes the Experience

If there is one thing Turtle Beach has consistently done well over the years, it’s audio quality, and the Stealth Pro 2 continues that tradition in spectacular fashion.

Equipped with 60mm Eclipse dual drivers, Dolby Atmos Spatial Audio support, active noise cancellation, and official Hi-Res Audio certification, the Stealth Pro 2 is designed to transform games into immersive audio experiences rather than simply delivering sound.

Playing Battlefield 6 with the headset felt less like playing a traditional FPS and more like participating in a full-scale combat simulation. Gunfire carries incredible depth and clarity, with every burst from an SMG sounding sharp and aggressive, while distant tank fire rumbles with deep, echoing power across the battlefield. Even smaller audio details, such as footsteps in close-quarters combat, become critically important gameplay tools.

The positional audio performance is particularly impressive on Xbox, where console headsets often struggle to match the clarity found on PC. Every sound feels precise, layered, and easy to identify in the middle of chaotic firefights.

Simply put, the Stealth Pro 2 delivers some of the most immersive gaming audio I’ve experienced to date.

Multiplatform Connectivity That Actually Works

One of the standout features of the Stealth Pro 2 is Turtle Beach’s CrossPlay 2.0 wireless system, which allows simultaneous audio from two separate devices.

At any given time, you can be gaming on your Xbox or PC while also listening to Spotify, Discord, or a podcast from your phone via Bluetooth. Better yet, each audio source has its own independent volume controls, allowing you to balance game and media audio exactly how you want it.

Turtle Beach has also clearly put serious thought into usability. The volume wheels are textured differently, making them easy to identify by touch alone, while the controls are logically split between the earcups. Bluetooth functionality is located on the right side, while wireless transmitter controls remain on the left.

This becomes incredibly useful during long gaming sessions. Personally, I often have both my gaming PC and Xbox running simultaneously, gaming on one screen while browsing guides or YouTube videos on the other. Being able to instantly swap audio sources between platforms without reconnecting devices is a massive convenience.

Even more impressive is the headset’s ability to seamlessly switch between up to four different USB wireless transmitters at the press of a button. The included package comes with two USB-A transmitters, one of which doubles as both the Xbox receiver and external battery charger.

The balance between dual audio sources is also surprisingly well handled. Neither source aggressively overpowers the other, making the experience feel polished and natural rather than awkwardly mixed together.

Comfort and Noise Cancellation

Earlier Turtle Beach headsets often delivered excellent audio quality but could become uncomfortable during extended sessions. Thankfully, the Stealth Pro 2 is a significant improvement over some of the company’s older designs.

That said, there is still a trade-off to consider.

To achieve effective active noise cancellation, the earcups need to create a firm seal around your ears. As a result, the headset does feel noticeably snug, particularly during the first few uses. Combined with a weight of just under 400 grams, the Stealth Pro 2 can feel slightly heavy if you are not already accustomed to wearing premium gaming headsets for extended periods.

However, the benefits far outweigh the negatives.

The active noise cancellation is genuinely outstanding and easily among the best I’ve personally used in a gaming headset. Background distractions almost completely disappear once the ANC activates, making it remarkably easy to focus on games without needing to crank the volume excessively high.

Whether it was loud conversations nearby or a television running in the background, the Stealth Pro 2 consistently blocked out outside noise with impressive effectiveness.

Smart Features That Add Real Value

The Stealth Pro 2 also includes several smaller quality-of-life features that collectively make the headset feel extremely polished.

The detachable microphone feels sturdy yet flexible and includes flip-to-mute functionality. When muted, the wireless receiver changes its lighting indicator to clearly show microphone status alongside the currently connected device.

While many people will likely hide the wireless receivers behind their PCs or consoles, I actually found the front-facing status lights surprisingly useful during daily use.

Another standout feature is the Turtle Beach Swarm II app. Designed to work across Turtle Beach devices, the app allows users to update firmware, customise EQ settings, and adjust audio profiles directly from their phone without even needing to connect via Bluetooth.

It’s a refreshing approach compared to the bloated PC software suites many gaming brands rely on today. Being able to manage headset settings without installing multiple background programs on your computer feels like a genuine step forward.

Final Thoughts

The Turtle Beach Stealth Pro 2 is one of the most feature-complete gaming headsets I’ve used in years. Rather than chasing marketing gimmicks, Turtle Beach has focused on practical features that genuinely improve the day-to-day gaming experience.

The swappable battery system is brilliant, the audio quality is exceptional, and the multiplatform connectivity makes the headset incredibly versatile for modern gamers who regularly use multiple devices at once.

While the snug fit and overall weight may not suit everyone initially, the trade-off is industry-leading active noise cancellation and a premium audio experience that very few gaming headsets currently match.

Turtle Beach has done an outstanding job refining and evolving the Stealth lineup with the Stealth Pro 2, creating a headset that feels equally suited to immersive gaming sessions, media consumption, and everyday multitasking. For anyone looking for a premium wireless headset for Xbox and PC, the Stealth Pro 2 is an easy recommendation.
