Samsung announces the Galaxy S6 edge+ and Galaxy Note 5 in Australia
SYDNEY, Australia – August 18, 2015 –Samsung Electronics Australia todayannounced the local pricing and availability for the Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+ and Galaxy Note 5. Delivering the finest in Samsung mobile innovation, the smartphones combine design and performance to produce the most powerful Galaxy handsets to date.
Both smartphones redefine the large screen smartphone for Samsung, offering Australians a truly immersive viewing experience through the amazing 5.7-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED display, seamless user-interface and software experience, and amazing battery life and charging. With a polished glass finish and curved edge designs, the Galaxy S6 edge+ and Galaxy Note 5 combine power, performance and beauty.
The Galaxy S6 edge+ integrates an innovative dual edge display, which delivers an amazing viewing and multimedia experience, while the newly designed Galaxy Note 5 offers a wide range of productivity tools including advanced S Pen capabilities.

Galaxy S6 edge+ Features Immersive Dual edge Display
Samsung has continued to push its design heritage with the introduction of the Galaxy S6 edge+ smartphone. The Galaxy S6 edge+ offers a truly immersive viewing experience, including an industry-leading 5.7-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED display and dual edge screen that’s optimised for entertainment.
The dual edge screen features ‘Apps edge’ to allow easy access to favourite apps and the enhanced ‘People edge’ for quick access to favourite contacts. ‘People edge’ allows Australians to send hand-written memos and emoticons to their favourite contacts, in addition to calls, messages and email access.
Galaxy Note 5 Equipped with Advanced S Pen
To cater to today’s busy mobile users, the Galaxy Note 5 includes an enhanced S Pen that offers improved writing capabilities. The new Air Command launches upon removal of the S Pen and its functions are quickly accessible. Users can also annotate full webpages and whole images, with an improved Screen Write feature. In addition, the S Pen includes updated Smart Select features for easy image clipping and instant memo even when the screen is off^.

Powerful Core Galaxy Features
The Galaxy S6 edge+ and Note 5 provide an enhanced multimedia experience through Samsung’s innovative 5.7-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED display, which helps deliver deep screen contrast and detail.
Samsung’s fast wired charging and embedded wireless charging technology will give Australians flexibility and great battery life. The embedded wireless charging capability is compatible with a range of wireless pads available in the market today. Both smartphones can be fully charged in approximately 90 minutes (wired) and approximately 120 minutes (wireless) when using Samsung’s own wireless fast charger (sold separately).
Both phones also offer improved video filming capabilities, including Steady Video, for Video Digital Image Stabilisation functionality for both front and rear camera and Video Collage Mode, which allows users to record and edit short videos easily in various frames and effects. The Galaxy S6 edge+ and Note 5 also feature Live Broadcast, which, when supported by a sufficient network connection, streams video straight from the camera via compatible devices or even to public through YouTube Live, allowing users to share moments almost instantly^^.
Galaxy S6 edge+ and Galaxy Note 5 users will also benefit from Samsung’s advanced camera system, including Quick launch, Auto Real-time High Dynamic Range (HDR), Smart Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS) and Steady Video.
All devices feature Ultra High Quality Audio (UHQ) for immersive multimedia experiences. In addition, a dedicated audio clock minimises sound distortion and noise, to help users enjoy clear sound from their mobile device. The UHQ Audio features can be played over Bluetooth® through Samsung’s next generation of wireless audio accessories (sold separately).
Both the Galaxy S6 edge+ and Note 5 have been further upgraded to support SideSync 4.0, which offers both wireless and wired PC-smartphone integration for connections between compatible devices. Users can connect their compatible Samsung device to their PC or tablet for easy access to files and data across all platforms and operating systems featuring auto-detection and quick setup^.
Samsung KNOX
The latest Galaxy devices are supported with the Samsung’s KNOX, a security platform designed to help protect data from malicious attacks and help deliver security updates quickly and effectively. Samsung KNOX can also be tailored to the specific security requirements of businesses in the enterprise space.
KNOX can also offer data loss protection (DLP), which is critical given the increasing importance in companies both big and small, regardless of BYOD or CYOD policies.
The devices will feature KNOX Active Protection (built into devices / out of the box) and My KNOX (app with simple/fast setup) to help further protect sensitive personal and work data.

The Galaxy S6 edge+ and the Note 5 will be available for pre-order from 4pm, Tuesday 18 August with an expected on-sale of Friday, 4 September:
