RocKwiz Salutes New York @ Melbourne Art Centre
To celebrate the NGV’s Winter Masterpiece’s MoMA exhibition, the RocKwiz gang Julia Zemiro, Brian Nankervis and The Orkestra plus special guests, will host a one-night-only salute to New York City on 20 July 2018 at Arts Centre Melbourne’s State Theatre.
From Irving Berlin and Frank Sinatra to Patti Smith and The Ramones, New York City has long been a breeding ground for influential music and the backdrop to some of music’s most memorable moments; Bob Dylan in a Greenwich Village coffee shop, Simon and Garfunkel in Central Park, Carole King in the Brill Building, Talking Heads at CBGB’s or Lady Gaga at Madison Square Garden.
Julia, Brian, the legendary RocKwiz Orkestra and a cavalcade of special musical guests will perform signature songs by New York’s finest to celebrate the city that never sleeps.
Special guests include Megan Washington, Husky, Dave Larkin (Dallas Crane), Sweet Jean, Jeff Duff, Hailey Cramer, Doug Williams, Dan Kelly, Tom Burlinson, Alma Zygier and L-FRESH The LION!
