New PlayStation Hardware Launching This Week
Today, Wednesday, 6 December, marks the launch of three new pieces of hardware for PlayStation Australia. This includes the new PlayStation®5 console (model group – slim), the PULSE Explore™ wireless earbuds and the Access™ controller.
PlayStation®5 console (model group – slim)
The PlayStation 5 console (model group – slim) has been reduced in volume by more than 30%, and weight by 18% and 24% compared to the previous disc and digital models, respectively. There are four separate cover panels, with the top portion in a glossy look, while the bottom remains matte. If you purchase the PS5 Digital Edition, you can add the Ultra HD Blu-ray Disc Drive for PS5 later. It will be sold separately for $159.95 AUD.
The recommended retail price at participating retailers for the new PS5 model at release is as follows:
PS5 with Ultra HD Blu-ray disc drive – $799.95 AUD
PS5 Digital Edition – $679.95 AUD
A new Vertical Stand compatible with all PS5 models will be sold separately at $49.95 AUD

Access™ Controller
The Access controller has been designed in collaboration with accessibility organisations and experts to create a versatile controller kit that enables gamers with disabilities to play more comfortably and for longer periods, empowering more players to share in the joy of gaming.
The device lets you customise your layout with different button and stick caps in various shapes and designs, operate the controller from any 360° orientation, and connect third-party accessibility accessories using its four industry-standard 3.5mm expansion ports.
On your PS5 console, there are many settings for the Access controller that you can configure to meet your needs. You can map buttons to create up to 30 control profiles, adjust stick settings, toggle commands on/off, or disable buttons altogether to stop accidental pressing. You can even pair up to two Access controllers and one DualSense wireless controller together and use them collaboratively.
