Motorola launches the moto g9 play in Australia

Motorola has today announced the release of the moto g9 play in Australia, the latest addition to the moto g family which has sold in excess of 100 million units worldwide, since launching in 2013.

The moto g9 play in Sapphire Blue will retail from $299 and available from Wednesday, 7 October 2020 at JB Hi-Fi, The Good Guys, Officeworks, Big W, Mobileciti and the Motorola online store. The Spring Pink variant will be available from JB Hi-Fi, The Good Guys and the Motorola online store.

The moto g9 play is the next big leap in Motorola’s mid-tier segment, created for value-conscious consumers looking for the best overall experience at an amazing price point. The moto g9 play offers reliability, long battery life, a great camera when you need it and NFC technology for contactless mobile payments.

“What’s most important for Australians is to have a phone that can fulfil their day-to-day needs and performs well across the board, with excellent specs and features, without paying too much. This is what Motorola’s moto g family is all about: To deliver what matters most to consumers,” said Danny Adamopoulos, General Manager of Sales, APAC for Mature Markets, Motorola.

“Motorola understands the mid-tier segment like nobody else. Each year, we continue to push the boundaries of what’s possible in this price range. With the moto g9 play, we have taken the mobile experience to the next level by combining everything consumers want in one product.

The moto g9 play comes with Motorola true wireless Bluetooth earbuds in the box so consumers can enjoy their favourite music and rich quality sound while on the move. The stylish earbuds include a USB charging cable on the case that allows the buds to be charged directly from the phone.

The 6.5“ Max Vision (20:9) HD+ screen gives you an immersive experience designed to maximise your viewing area. The moto g9 play has 64 GB of built-in storage, so you have plenty of room to download more photos, songs, movies, and games.3

2Battery must be substantially depleted; charging rate slows as charging progresses. All battery life claims are approximate and based on the median user tested across a mixed-use profile (which includes both usage and standby time) under optimal network conditions. Actual battery performance will vary and depends on many factors including signal strength, network and device settings, temperature, battery condition, and usage patterns.

3Supports up to 512GB microSD card, microSD cards sold separately. Content with DRM restrictions may not be able to be moved to the card.
