Keep Your Helmets On: Oz Comic-Con Returns to Adelaide and Melbourne

Whilst growing concerns about mushrooms have taken precedence in the early stages of 2023 (niche reference to both The Last of Us and Chris Pratt’s Mario voice), the team at Oz Comic-Con has wasted no time in preparing two epic events set to hit Adelaide and Melbourne in June.

Announcing Emily Swallow (the Armourer in The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett), Caity Lotz (White Canary in the Arrowverse – MELBOURNE ONLY) and Juliana Harkavy (Black Canary in the Arrowverse), the lineup is shaping up to be one of the best yet. Also confirmed is Abby Trott (Nezuko Kamado in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba) and JusZ Cosplay. Fans will be able to brush with fame at the Adelaide Showgrounds on June 3rd – 4th, followed by the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre on June 10th – 11th.

Featuring all of the cornerstones that make up the very foundations of Oz Comic-Con, attendees will be treated to a show floor and schedule that includes Artist Alley, Gaming Zones and various stages for panels, workshops and community engagement.

For cosplay enthusiasts, Oz Comic-Con’s Cosplay Central continues to astound with the chance to meet local cosplay heroes for photos and a chance to take home key insights from the industry. The Australian Championships of Cosplay, one of the most prestigious cosplay contests in the region, will also make a return, highlighting the immense talent and craftsmanship from all around the country. Entrants will be given a chance to join Oz Comic-Con’s Hall of Fame, which currently includes previous champions such as Heidzdee Cosplay, TC Cosplays, and Droid Protocol.

Still in the stages of careful curation, attendees can expect a full weekend bursting with flavour including industry talks and panels, free play gaming opportunities, workshops, and lashings of retail opportunities with exclusive pop culture merchandise that can’t be found anywhere else.
