HUAWEI MateBook 14 TO OFFICIALLY LAUNCH IN AUSTRALIA

Huawei has today announced the newly upgraded HUAWEI MateBook 14 will officially launch in Australia this week.

Huawei’s latest ultra-portable lightweight 14-inch notebooks have been designed with young professionals in mind. Artistic, innovative and intelligent, the new HUAWEI MateBooks combine the FullView display, high performance, extreme portability, great build quality and a stylish look to enable next-generation productivity. The new all-rounder notebooks also rise to a whole new level, being fitted with a 10th Generation Intel Core processor, MX350 discrete graphics, 16 GB RAM[1], and adding supports for 2K HUAWEI FullView Display with Multi-touch [2] and Huawei Share.

Larking Huang, Managing Director of Huawei Consumer Business in Australia, said: “Interconnection and interoperability between PCs and smartphones allows consumers to enjoy a seamless one-stop user experience. Together, they are a key pillar supporting the all-scenario ecosystem, and by extension, Huawei’s all-scenario strategy. Combining premium design, FullView display, high performance and better connectivity features, the HUAWEI MateBook 14 is the perfect, stylish companion for Australian consumers looking for notebooks with extreme portability, high performance and superb all-scenario connectedness.”

The Ultra-Slim FullView Display

The ultra-slim notebook market is experiencing rapid growth. The 14-inch HUAWEI MateBook 14 is equipped with Huawei’s signature FullView display, with the top and side bezels measuring only 4.9mm[3]. Unlike other manufacturers, Huawei equipped the HUAWEI MateBook 14 with a 3:2 display, effectively increasing the viewable area by 8.4 percent[4] compared to the more common 16:9 displays. This ratio makes the HUAWEI MateBook 14 more ergonomic and better suited for productivity tasks, as it allows content to be displayed in the most complete manner.

At a time when manufacturers were embedding Full HD displays in their smart devices, Huawei took another step forward with the first HUAWEI MateBook, equipping it with a 2K+ display. The FullView display on HUAWEI MateBook 14 supports a resolution of up to 2160×1440, at 185ppi. It also supports 100 percent of the sRGB color gamut, a 1000:1 contrast ratio and a peak brightness of up to 300nits, which lets the notebook breathe life to any type of content ranging from static images to Blu-ray movies, as well as facilitating the work of graphics and video editors by reproducing any color with true-to-life vibrancy. A 2K HUAWEI FullView Display with Multi-touch is also available as an option on the HUAWEI MateBook 14. The display not only tracks multiple touch inputs with high precision but also supports Fingers Gesture Screenshot[6]. The innovative recessed camera also makes a return, protecting user privacy by hiding the camera underneath a key.

Designed with the concept of “Pure & Invisible”, the HUAWEI MateBook 14 has an elegant, minimalist metallic chassis, which is sandblasted to create a soft matte finish. In addition, despite the heavyweight hardware powering the device, the HUAWEI MateBook 14 remains extremely portable, measuring at 307.5 x 223.8 x 15.9mm and weighing at only 1.53kg[7].

Powerful Processor Offers Solid Performance

With its excellent performance and stylish portability, HUAWEI MateBook 14 is made for productivity on the go.

Displaying unprecedented performance, HUAWEI MateBook 14 is powered by the 10th Generation Intel Core processor. As well as upgrading the processor, we’ve equipped the HUAWEI MateBook 14 with up to 16 GB dual channel RAM. Additionally, the HUAWEI MateBook 14 features the latest high-performance NVIDIA® GeForce® MX 350 GPU. The GPU empowers creative individuals to excel at any graphics and video editing task.

With high performance comes a need for effective cooling. Inspired by its namesake, the HUAWEI Shark Fin Fan 2.0 has a higher air output and cooling performance thanks to its large fins. The intelligent filtering technology monitors the system temperature and manages the fans in real-time, smoothening the fan curve and ensuring quiet operation.

The HUAWEI MateBook 14 is also equipped with a 56Wh[8] battery, along with intelligent power saving measures to provide long-lasting endurance. The HUAWEI MateBook 14 can play 1080p videos for 14.7 hours, run regular operations for 13.6 hours or browse the internet for 10.7 hours[9]. Meanwhile, the HUAWEI MateBook 14 comes with a 65 W Type-C portable adapter which can be used with a range of charging outputs. As well as using the power adapter to charge your laptop, it supports HUAWEI SuperCharge for certain phones[10]. With this power adapter, you can quickly charge wherever you are.

Innovative Technology Elevates All-Scenario Experiences

Laptops in the future will be more intelligent, more efficient, and more connected. We’re helping to drive the future with innovation which caters for all scenarios and delivers an interactive experience which seamlessly incorporates the user’s laptop and phone. We’re also fitting our devices with Multi-screen Collaboration[11], a function of Huawei Share, which we’re bringing to the HUAWEI MateBook 14.

The significance of Multi-screen Collaboration lies not only in enabling file transfer between the laptop and smartphone, but also in making seamless collaboration between the laptop and smartphone come true. By building on powerful processing capabilities and the basic system capabilities of the MateBook, Huawei was able to clear the obstacle between the basic architecture of Windows and Android systems, realising the full potential of seamlessly connecting the two. At the same time, laptop accessories such as the keyboard and mouse can now be used as peripherals of your smartphone, providing a more convenient and secure user experience, both at home and in the office environment.

This time, Huawei MateBook 14 comes with more features from upgraded Multi-screen Collaboration[12], allowing users to seamlessly and efficiently edit files on their phone directly from the laptop screen. In addition, the Multi-screen Collaboration allows smartphones to access the microphone and camera on the laptop, so users can make or answer audio and video calls without picking up the mobile phone.

In terms of device unlocking speed, today’s notebooks still leave much to be desired, especially when compared to smartphones, which is why the HUAWEI MateBook 14 features a Fingerprint Power Button[13]. The two-in-one button integrates the fingerprint sensor into power button for Fingerprint Log-in.

While Huawei has established its brand with smartphone technologies, it has also heavily invested in R&D, and through the years it has created a wide breadth of high quality, innovative products. At present, it has a complete portfolio of PC products, ranging from the premium flagship HUAWEI MateBook X Series, the all-rounder HUAWEI MateBook Series, the mainstream MateBook D Series, to the innovative convertible MateBook E Series.

Prompted by shifting consumer preferences, devices will evolve to become increasingly mobile, and with them their users as well. Huawei is committed to delivering reliable, high-quality and advanced products to its consumers. The HUAWEI MateBook 14 enrich and improve the all-scenario experience across devices, providing more users with the ultimate experience.
