Documentary Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead 2 now available on iTunes

Aussie filmmaker and wellness leader Joe Cross’ newest documentary Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead 2 is available now on iTunes and other major platforms.

Returning four years after the smash hit film which depicted Cross’ own journey of personal transformation through juicing and has been seen by more than 20 million people around the world, Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead 2 is an exploration of how to achieve and maintain a healthy lifestyle, including and beyond critical dietary choices. Packed with interviews from experts who have identified the key components of wellbeing and the tools for achieving it, the film also revisits the people Cross met along the way four years ago, with the entertaining blend of information, humour and compassion that is his signature style.

In 2010, Cross put into practice a powerful yet simple notion – that the healing power of fresh juice from fruits and vegetables could be an effective solution to the twin global epidemics of chronic illness and obesity. The first film followed the Australian’s 60-day journey across America to spread his belief in the restorative power of fresh fruit and vegetable juice, and the people he met along the way. By the film’s conclusion, Cross had not only lost a substantial amount of weight, but also rid himself of the medication he had taken for years to manage a chronic and debilitating auto-immune disease. The film ignited a global wellness movement with juicing at the forefront which inspired and motivated millions of people to markedly increase their intake of fruits and vegetables.

Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead 2 introduces audiences to some of those people in the US, UK, Australia, Kenya and beyond who were inspired to make changes, looking at the relative impact juicing and plant-based eating has had on their lives. Most meaningfully, it also explores the crucial role that community support – whether from family, friends or even online – plays in maintaining a healthy life style.
