Summary: The long awaited Trials of Osiris have return!

Fantastic

With Season of the Worthy well underway over on Destiny 2, fans are getting a taste of some bitter sweet PVP life with the return of the Trials of Osiris. Now I never played the first Destiny so I did not know what to really expect when jumping into this but so far it’s been one hell of an experience. Just in the first weekend alone this game left my heart racing and my palms a sweaty mess. There is nothing like being the last person alive on the team with the victory all coming down to you. The Trials of Osiris for the meantime will have my attention.

For those unaware of what the Trials of Osiris are, it’s a 3 on 3 PVP event that pits teams against one another in an elimination match with each team trying desperately to go for a 7 game winning streak, also known as going Flawless. This is everyone’s goal as doing so will open up the Lighthouse which contains pinnacle gear for those lucky enough to do so. This gear also has a really nice theme and glows for the bragging rights to say you’ve gone flawless. Now this glow does go away after some time, so if you want to keep glowing it up, you’ll have to keep pushing on.

The Trials are only open from Friday 10 am PDT until Tuesday around the same time, so the window to grab those bounties is limited. If you enjoy a little PVP or just want to check it out, then pop on over to the tower and visit Saint-14. It should also be noted that you need to be light level of at least 960. The reason you need to be at least 960 is because light level matters when playing this PVP event. So if your experience ends up anything like mine, you’ll have your cheeks clapped by some sweaty rocking a high light level. It can be frustrating and I have seen people around online complaining about this, but man I can say it feels so good catching those guys off guard and sending some higher light level boys packing.

Now I can’t really give much of an opinion on the gear that one gets from completing a flawless run, because I have yet to do so. If and when that time comes around, I’ll be sure to talk about the loot I’ve gotten and what I think about it all.

So far I’ve really enjoyed the Trials of Osiris and honestly the only think I can say I don’t enjoy about it is there is no matchmaking. So those of you without a clan or a group you play with regularly, you might want to hit up some groups on discord or some Destiny 2 message boards. I mean it’s not really that big of a deal because when you are putting so much on the line you want a team you can communicate with. When you are 6 games into a winning streak, don’t expect to being playing some guys with nothing to lose, the matchmaking will put you up against another team with 6 on the line. That makes for a really good PVP right there.

With the weekend here I’m looking forward jumping back into the Trials and seeing if I can get that Flawless run and if I do I’ll update this review based on what kind of loot I can obtain. As for now I’m giving the Trials of Osiris 4.5 out of 5 Stars.
