Samsung Updates Multiroom App for a Seamless User Experience

Sydney, Australia – May 13, 2015 – Samsung Electronics Australia has launched significant changes to its Multiroom App that makes interacting with Samsung’s Multiroom speakers even easier*. The app, compatible with selected Android and iOS smartphones and tablets, includes a new interface design and additional usability features to ensure an outstanding and seamless experience for consumers.

New Design:

The design of the Multiroom App has aesthetically shifted with the incorporation of a sleek wheel dial navigation tool. This new design changes the background of the app based on the specific album artwork. The new depthless menu display also means users never have to leave the home screen of the app to select music, the source and the speakers.

Additionally, the new design allows consumers to search multiple music services at the same time, whether consumers use Pandora or Spotify^.

Easy Access to Music:

Samsung’s new Continuous Play feature allows users to continue listening to stored music as they move from outside the home to inside. The new app recognises when a user is connected to the home Wi-Fi network and automatically sends the music to the compatible Samsung Multiroom speakers for an instantaneous and seamless experience**. This can also be done through manually prompting the compatible smartphone or by automatically setting the app to detect a user’s location and sends the music directly to the central compatible Samsung speaker.

Furthermore, searching for the Samsung Multiroom App on a compatible smartphone is no longer necessary, with direct access to music via a widget that sits on any compatible Android smartphone or tablet’s homepage. Through the widget, the user can pause and change songs or utilise it as a shortcut to enter the app.

Connecting the app to compatible Samsung Multiroom speakers is also more seamless and intuitive, with the new update detecting when a speaker is connected to the same Wi-Fi network and instantly linking the Multiroom App.
