Designed to work seamlessly across the entire Steam ecosystem — including PC, laptop, Steam Deck, Steam Link devices, and Valve’s upcoming Steam Machine and Steam Frame — the new controller marks Valve’s return to dedicated gaming hardware.

The company positions this model as a fully featured, high‑performance input device built for modern PC gaming, whether you prefer traditional controls, gyro aiming, trackpad precision, or a hybrid of all three.

A New Design Built for Flexibility
Valve’s updated Steam Controller introduces several hardware improvements aimed at precision, comfort and adaptability:

Next‑generation magnetic thumbsticks with TMR technology for improved accuracy and long‑term durability
Full‑sized controls for a more traditional gamepad feel
Dual trackpads, continuing Valve’s signature approach to mouse‑like precision
Grip buttons, expanding input options without compromising ergonomics
Grip‑enabled Gyro (Grip Sense), allowing players to activate gyro aiming simply by holding the controller naturally
