New Halo 5: Guardians Free Content Detailed as Hammer Storm Launches Today

Firefight make’s is long awaited return due to popular demand!

As many of you know, with Halo 5: Guardians we set out to continually transform the game, adding more content, maps, items, gameplay and overall Halo goodness long after launch. It’s easily the most extensive post-launch content plan for a Halo game ever, with free content releases like The Battle of Shadow and Light, The Cartographer’s Gift, Infinity’s Armory and, available today, Hammer Storm. For those keeping track, that’s 11 new maps, 12 new modes (including Big Team Battle and Forge) and more than 180 new REQ items – all completely free.

But as a famous Spartan once said, “I think we’re just getting started.” We aren’t done, not by a long shot. In fact, we actually want to share a sneak peek at some of the things you’ll be seeing in upcoming content releases. There will be even more new maps, modes, vehicles, weapons, and REQs – an insane plethora of content. In addition, we’ll continue to listen to all of the valuable feedback provided by you, and will use it to help inform the addition of new content, refine the gameplay, and address issues or concerns raised by our incredible community.

Among the vast array of new modes coming to Halo over the next several months is one that our fans have repeatedly asked us to deliver – Firefight. The new mode, called “Warzone Firefight”, will bring PvE to Halo 5: Guardians multiplayer and let players battle together against common foes (and truly show off their custom Spartans to boot!) That’s all we’ll say for now, but trust us, we can’t wait to tell you more about Warzone Firefight in the coming months.

Shake Off the Winter Chill with March’s Games with Gold

Four all-new titles come to Games with Gold in March!

Four all-new titles come to Games with Gold in March, bringing you a little bit of every genre, to help shake off some of that winter chill. Xbox One gamers, remember that thanks to backward compatibility on your new consoles, you can play all four titles, completely free, when they release on Games with Gold.

You’ve got two Xbox One games this month: graphic adventure Sherlock Holmes: Crimes and Punishments and action-RPG Lords of the Fallen. On Xbox 360, the acclaimed real-time strategy title Supreme Commander 2 makes its first appearance on Games with Gold, and multi-award-winning, open-world, role-playing shooter Borderlands (yes, the one that started it all!) rounds out the March title offering.

As usual, all games are available only for a limited time, as part of the ongoing Games with Gold program, so sign up now to get in on the action!

If you’ve ever wanted to take on the mantle of the world’s greatest detective, but didn’t want to start smoking a pipe, your opportunity has come! Sherlock Holmes: Crimes and Punishments, from acclaimed adventure game masters Frogwares, comes to Games with Gold in March for the Xbox One. It puts you at the helm of some of Holmes and his sidekick Dr.Watson’s greatest adventures, and you’ll have to use your wits to get to the bottom of dastardly mysteries, but you’ll also need to make difficult moral choices along the way. Written in the style of Holmes’ creator Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Crimes and Punishments gives players freedom to choose whether to enforce justice by-the-book, or bend the rules to get the results their way – but don’t expect the story to turn out just the way you want it to! No matter what you choose, you’ll face plenty of twists and turns in this excellent, story-rich adventure.

And if you’re into adventures, you’ll find that Lords of the Fallen has plenty to offer when you’re ready to switch gears. Take on the role of Harkyn, condemned criminal, on a journey to absolve himself of his crimes and avert a massive war, in a world of dark fantasy. Lords of the Fallen is a dark fantasy epic, putting players in situations where they must face off against heavy odds, and overcome through a combination of grit, reflexes, cleverness, and properly building and equipping their characters. If you like a challenge, you’ll love what Lords of the Fallen has to offer.

5 Ridiculously Awesome Rocket League Videos

Get ready to make your own magical moments, because Rocket League is available for Xbox One now!

Picture the game of soccer (or football if you’re outside the U.S.), only replace the players with cars. And replace the pitch with an enclosed arena with walls several stories tall… that the cars can basically stick to. Now make the ball about three times the size of a car, and add in explosions whenever a goal is scored.

Also: The cars can basically fly.

That’s Rocket League, and it hit Xbox One this week. To get you properly excited to play, let’s take a look at some ridiculous videos (taken from the PC version of the game) that highlight some of the absolutely insane things that can happen in this absolutely insane game.
