Automated cleaning
Summer finally arrives, you check the forecast and the weather is finally hitting the 20s and 30s Celsius. That wait for perfect pool weather has arrived! As you begin to plan your swim, family BBQ, or catch‑up with friends by the pool, it dawns on you that you have let the last clean go a bit long. You look at the pool and it’s far from crystal clean, with dirt and leaves dotted across the floor and walls that require some serious tidy‑up. Unfortunately for you, it’s yet another manual clean ahead. That back‑aching saga of pulling out the pool hose, attaching it to the filter box and telescopic pool cleaner, then an hour or so of laborious work, which often gets worse when the sun is beating down on you while doing it.
Fear not anymore as it’s time to banish those days by investing in a pool robot! This is where a unit like the Wybot C2 steps in! Better still unlike old‑technology pool robots there’s no cumbersome long power cable to untangle and manage. New cordless technology in pool robots is here to stay — a perfect solution to ease that workload and spend more time enjoying the pool and less time cleaning!
The cordless, next‑generation Wybot C2 pool cleaner is designed for pools of all shapes, features double filtration for unmatched cleaning and an extended 180‑minute battery life with fast charging. Other features include 4‑in‑1 full‑coverage cleaning from pool floor to walls, waterline and even stairs, plus 7 smart cleaning modes easily accessed with the Wybot app and smart path planning with 6 routes. This unit also has dual‑layer ultra‑fine filtration with 180μm large‑particle cartridges and a 10μm ultra‑fine filter to capture fine dust as well as leaves, etc. Also featured is a reliable brushless motor design, auto‑parking and it comes with a solid 2‑year warranty.
The Wybot C2 uses its built‑in gyroscope to plan a smooth path and movement around the pool which prevents random bouncing and helps it adapt to different pool shapes. The high‑precision onboard sensors allow it to intelligently use good obstacle‑crossing ability and perform precision cleaning of floors, walls and the waterline. Here is a demonstration of its cleaning ability in our own fibreglass pool.
It takes roughly 3 hours to recharge this unit and it has a maximum runtime of 180 minutes. Of course how long it runs before needing a recharge will depend on your pool size, shape and which cleaning mode you are operating in. After cleaning the robot will park itself conveniently at the side of your pool.

In the images you can see that the Wybot C2 is a stylish and compact unit. It is also constructed with plastic, as is common with all pool cleaners. The design features caterpillar treads on the wheels, as with many pool cleaners now, which is a nice enhancement to allow the cleaner to grip and move about the pool walls and floor with ease.
Operation of the robot is quite simple, with the power button located at the top of the unit, which you hold down for a couple of seconds to turn it off or on. There is an indicator bar along the front top to show the various statuses of the unit via colour codes and flashes, including power state, charging, app connection, etc.
Before using this unit you will need to download and set up the Wybot app which allows you to easily set the cleaning mode and see the charge status, among other things. Android and Apple phones are both supported. I was able to download and set this up with a minimum of fuss on my Android phone and as long as you are relatively close to the robot I found it would connect without any issues. Various cleaning modes and options are available such as standard pool, floor only, wall‑then‑floor, waterline only, eco floor, turbo floor and more.

Cleaning Verdict
I ran the wall‑then‑floor combo for my fibreglass pool and it ran until the unit was depleted of charge for approximately 2 hours or so. More experimentation with different modes would obviously give varying results with battery life as wall climbing requires more power usage. The robot did a solid job with this selection only missing some small corner spots and the filter had a collection of fine dirt and leaves deposited from the cleaning run. For even better results a quick brush to move leaves and other residues to the floor would be a wise move. Cleaning the filter afterwards was a breeze as it’s one unit with an easily removable lid and is far easier than my old Dolphin unit which was fiddly to remove and clean. Overall I was quite happy with the first couple of tests I did with this unit and its cleaning results.
Final Thoughts
The Wybot C2 is a good value‑for‑money pool cleaner with a nice array of cleaning options and is smart enough to navigate the pool with a minimum of fuss. It did very well at picking up pool debris both big and small. With further experimentation cleaning results would be even better with some pre‑brushing, too. App setup and charging were quite easy and intuitive. Once the robot is fully charged it’s just a matter of making sure you have your cleaning mode set in the app, turning on the robot and then dropping it into the pool!
