Adobe Accelerates Shift to the Cloud, Announces Major Updates

New Product Innovation to be Delivered Exclusively Through Adobe Creative Cloud

SYDNEY — May 7, 2013 At Adobe MAX, The Creativity Conference, Adobe (Nasdaq: ABDE) today accelerated its shift to the cloud by announcing that new product innovation will be delivered exclusively through Adobe® Creative Cloud™, the company’s flagship offering for creatives. Adobe Creative Cloud is a subscription-based service that includes more than 30 tools and services enabling professional-grade content creation and delivery across print, web, mobile apps, video and photography.  While Adobe Creative Suite® 6 products will continue to be supported and available for purchase, focusing development on Creative Cloud will accelerate the rate at which Adobe can innovate and broaden the type of innovation the company can offer the creative community.

Simultaneously, Adobe announced a major upgrade to Creative Cloud, introducing stunning versions of Adobe’s next generation of desktop applications including Adobe Photoshop® CC, InDesign® CC, Illustrator® CC, Dreamweaver® CC and Premiere® Pro CC.  Adobe’s desktop tools, previously known as Creative Suite (CS), are now branded CC to reflect that they are an integral part of Creative Cloud and have been reinvented to support a more intuitive, connected way of creating. In addition, Behance, the world’s leading online creative community, is now integrated with Creative Cloud, so customers can showcase work, get feedback on projects and gain global exposure.

Creative Cloud’s advanced capabilities are making it a hit with the worldwide creative community: more than a half million paid members, and well over 2 million free members have signed up for Creative Cloud since it was launched in April 2012. In Australia and New Zealand, 80 per cent of customers purchasing from Adobe’s website are already choosing Creative Cloud over more traditional versions of the product.

“Since we launched Creative Cloud in Australia and New Zealand in April last year it has been enormously popular with our customers,” said Paul Robson, Adobe’s Managing Director for Australia and New Zealand.

“With all of our focus now on Creative Cloud, our customers can expect the very latest innovations as soon as they become available. In Australia, creative employment is growing nearly 40 percent faster than employment in the rest of the economy[1] and we’re excited to be able to support the creative community with what they most need – an always-current set of tools they rely on to create anytime and anywhere.”

Australian photographer Dennys Ilic said Creative Cloud is proving crucial to improving workflow.

“As I travelled around the world to create our first book Creative Cloud proved instrumental to our workflow. It ensured efficient information and file exchange between my creative team in Australia, and I, as we faced the looming deadline.

“As we embark on many more international projects and the creation of a studio base in Los Angeles, the wonderful ease of use and regular updates to already incredible Adobe tools will continue to be indispensable to our growth.”

Australian animator and web designer George Samuels said Creative Cloud is easy to use, affordable, and gives complete access to all the Adobe software you could ever want.

“It helps expand skill sets and reduces the barriers to entry for students, freelance creatives, solopreneurs and other small businesses, making the tools they need to create more accessible and empowering than ever. For larger or remote production teams, the ability to deploy and update software from anywhere in the world just makes good, logical sense.”

Adobe is facilitating the transition to Creative Cloud with attractive pricing plans and promotions for individual members, teams and enterprise customers.  For more details, visit: http://www.adobe.com/go/cc_plans_au.  Adobe will continue to sell licenses for all CS6 products via electronic download from adobe.com and participating resellers.
