TP-Link Tapo expands smart door lock range in Australia

TP-Link Australia has launched the Tapo DL105, a smart Wi-Fi deadbolt that gives homeowners six ways to unlock their front door without a traditional key. The DL105 is available now at an RRP of $249, joining the existing Tapo DL110 to form a complete smart lock range at two price points.

Both locks offer six ways to unlock:

  • Tapo app (remote or local)
  • Fingerprint recognition – stores up to 100 prints, unlocks in under half a second
  • Bluetooth
  • Backlit keypad
  • Compatible voice assistant
  • Two included backup keys

The keypad includes peek-proof entry, allowing users to enter decoy digits before or after their real code. Access can also be managed for different people – permanent codes for household members, one-time codes for guests, or scheduled codes for regular visitors such as cleaners or dog walkers.

Two locks, two price points

The Tapo DL110 is the range’s flagship model. It carries IP65 weatherproofing, BHMA Grade 2 certification, a matte zinc alloy finish, and works with Alexa, Google Home, and Samsung SmartThings. It is available now at an RRP of $299.

The new DL105 offers the same core features. One-year battery life, built-in doorbell, auto-lock, USB-C charging, Alexa, Samsung SmartThings, and Google Home compatibility, with IP54 weatherproofing and BHMA Grade 3 certification.

Both models include a removable and rechargeable battery, with a USB-C port for emergency top-up power.

“Smart locks are becoming an important part of the connected home,” said Neville Wang, Managing Director at TP-Link Australia and New Zealand. “The DL105 makes it easier for more Australians to get started, combining convenience, security, and dependable performance in one accessible solution.”

Each lock is managed through the Tapo app, which shows a timestamped log of every entry. Automatic lockout activates after multiple failed attempts, with real-time alerts sent directly to the homeowner’s phone.
