The Last Waltz: Steam Page Now Live and Trailer Released

Australian publisher and developer, DigitallyDownloaded.net, has announced their first title, The Last Waltz, a visual novel that invites the player into the vibrant world of Dancesport, which will release in late 2025.

The Last Waltz is the first visual novel or video game that looks at the world of Dancesport – competitive ballroom dancing. It offers a visually stunning and emotionally intense story that explores the complexities of dance partnerships, ambition, sensuality, and self-discovery.

Set against the backdrop of glittering ballrooms and intense rehearsals, the story delves deep into what drives competitors in this unique sport that blends athleticism and artistry.

“This is a story that I’ve wanted to tell for more than 15 years, ever since I discovered Dancesport myself, and the stars have finally aligned to make it happen,” Producer, Matt Sainsbury, said.

“I’ve been fortunate to find an artist to do the incredible complexities of Dancesport justice, a music team to create a 35-track, authentic Dancesport soundtrack, and worked with some world standard dancers to bring video into the visual novel and, hopefully, introduce a sport to people that may never have seen it before.”

Digitally Downloaded has released a trailer to accompany the announcement, that highlights the game’s striking character designs, evocative music, and narrative-driven gameplay, as well as launching a Steam game for the game, where fans can wishlist the title so they receive the latest updates and information as they become available.
