Stephen Sanchez announces debut Australian tour for June 2023!

Frontier Touring is delighted to announce debut Australian tour dates for Nashville-based singer-songwriter Stephen Sanchez. The announcement comes as Sanchez lands down under this week, to promote his hit single ‘Until I Found You’ and new single ‘Evangeline’.

After a wildly successful 2022, the Platinum-certified star-on-the-rise will return to Australia in June to deliver his headline show to local audiences for the very first time. Traversing the East Coast, Sanchez will take in Melbourne’s The Espy on Monday 5 June, Sydney’s Oxford Art Factory on Tuesday 6 June and Brisbane’s The Zoo on Thursday 8 June.

With a voice that’s been described as “literal perfection, no flaws, crisp and powerful” (Echo), Sanchez will kick off his Australian headline run on the back of a sold out North American run. Sanchez this month performed two nights at iconic Los Angeles venue The Troubadour to an audience that included, amongst others, Sir Elton John. A fan of the young artist, Elton professed, “I just fell in love with this song and his voice. It’s such a brilliant song. It’s a throwback to 1950’s music.

Transcending eras, Stephen Sanchez writes the kind of songs that can play just as well from your parent’s vintage record player as they could from the main stages of festivals a la Bonnaroo.

As the story goes, Stephen Sanchez initially stirred up early buzz with his very first upload ‘Lady By The Sea’ going viral on social media and establishing rapport with audiences. Not long after, his original breakout ‘Until I Found You’ properly introduced a spirited signature style.

As Clash wrote, “The song dips into his vintage aesthetic, the reverb-soaked guitars recalling those lush, languid 50s ballads. There’s a modern twist, however, but his heart-on-sleeve sincerity bowls you over in its simple emotion.”

Anchored by a dreamy croon and breezy guitar wrapped in silky harmonies, ‘Until I Found You’ has hit over 1 billion global streams between the original, piano version, and duet with pop singer and songwriter Em Beihold (whose version hit Top 10 on the Spotify Global chart). The song hit Top 25 on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart, as his monthly listenership has grown to over 34 million on Spotify.

The 21-year-old has been embraced by the US late night television circuit, performing his lovestruck anthem ‘Evangeline’ on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon earlier this year. He also notably lit up The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Late Night with Seth Meyers, and acoustically on GMA3.

The dreamy fifties flow of ‘Evangeline’ follows Sanchez’s recent collaboration ‘Missing You’ featuring Ashe. In addition to amassing over 6 million global streams to date, Billboard plugged the track as one of “10 Cool New Pop Songs to Get You Through The Week, going on to note, “A true collaboration, the pair trade verses and challenge one another to push hardest on the chorus, allowing the song’s story to soar both sonically and emotionally.

MTV handpicked Sanchez as its Global PUSH Artist in September last year, and he was nominated for two 2022 MTV EMAs for Best New Artist and Best PUSH Artist.

On an incredible upward trajectory, Stephen Sanchez won’t be playing intimate rooms for long. Get in quickly to experience his captivating performance this June!
