Star Wars Lightsaber Forge Kyber Core Range Review

From Hasbro come their new range of lightsabers aimed at kids – the Star Wars Lightsaber Forge Kyber Core. These character inspired sabers features fan-favourites such as Darth Vader, Sabine Wren and even Din Djarin from The Mandalorian. Needless to say fun times ahead!

Besides being able to disassemble and reassemble these sabers as if you are building your own with a Kyber Crystal which in the real-world are the two AAA batteries required to power these elegant weapons which are not as clumsy or random as a blaster, it really takes the make-believe to another level.

The other fun interactive element of the Star Wars Lightsaber Forge Kyber Core Range are the extendable light-up blades which also emit the realistic sound effects of the different lightsabers and even the Dark Saber.

Another highlight is that if you purchase additional sabers, you can actually mix and match the components which allows for a total of 16 unique combinations. Again, perfect for kids to channel their inner Jedi, Sith or Mandalorian. To power the lightsaber, you just push the button and again, press the button to power down.

While these toys are made from plastic, the overall build quality does feel sturdy and what my kids loved about these sabers was the retractable blade. This means that when it is retracted, if you flick it out, it’s like the lightsaber comes to life. Given the material, they are not made for sparring but just gentle taps which is a little for kids to keen in mind when they get into the headset of a Jedi or Sith Lord.

Final Thoughts?

With the school holidays just around the corner, the Star Wars Lightsaber Forge Kyber Core Range are a great way to keep your kids occupied as their imagination takes them to a galaxy far far away.
