Spotify Free Tier now available on all Amazon Echo devices in Australia & New Zealand

Spotify Free Tier is now available for all Amazon Echo devices in Australia and New Zealand. This means customers in Australia and New Zealand no longer need a Premium Spotify account to stream music from their Echo devices – Free users can now ask Alexa to play today’s Top Hits, their Discover Weekly, or even a custom-made playlist. Amazon is particularly excited to bring this to the region as music is one of the top use cases for Echo devices in Australia and New Zealand.

In addition, once Alexa is up and running, users can enable “Spotify Connect” which searches for another Spotify account on the same Wi-Fi network. This means you can share your favourite playlists with housemates, family and friends.

For more information, check out this post from Spotify. Alexa-supported music services now include Amazon Music (Standard), Apple Music, Spotify Premium, Spotify Free Tier (new), Deezer, iHeartRadio, and TuneIn
