HMD Global, the home of Nokia phones, has announced that its brand-new Nokia G42 5G repairable phone is available to Australian consumers from today. The Nokia G42 5G is the industry’s first sub-$450 smartphone with 5G connectivity to feature QuickFix repairability, meaning that cracked screens, bent charging ports and batteries can all be easily replaced through HMD Global’s collaboration with iFixit. Consumers can quickly utilise handy step-by-step repair guides, while affordable replacement parts for the Nokia G42 5G start at AUD$42.99 RRP.
Priced at $449, the Nokia G42 5G is a highly-featured smartphone that includes a 50MP camera, 3-day battery life and Android™13 so you can snap, share, shop, stream in style, all at your own pace. Launched in a stunning ‘So Purple’ colour inspired by the 2023 Colour of the Year – Digital Lavender, the Nokia G42 5G is made with a 65% recycled back cover and boxed in FSC®-certified mixed packaging. It also comes with 3 years of monthly security updates, 2 years of OS upgrades and an industry-leading 3 year warranty.
To reinforce its leadership in repairability and sustainability, HMD Global has also recently launched its ‘Recycle To Win Competition’, teaming up with Clean Up Australia, Freely, Mobile Muster and Wander to reward Australian consumers who recycle their old mobile device through Mobile Muster. By recycling their phone, users go into the draw to a 4-day holiday in Kangaroo Island (SA) or Scenic Rim (QLD).
