Rokid Officially Launches Its AI and AR Smart Glasses in Australia
Rokid, a global leader in AI-powered smart eyewear and human-computer interaction, officially launched in Australia today with an exclusive showcase event in Sydney, introducing its latest AI and AR smart glasses technology to local media, creators, industry leaders and partners. Rokid Glasses allow users to capture hands-free photos and video, access a built-in AI assistant on the go, receive real-time translations across 89 languages with live subtitles, and navigate their world through a pair of glasses that look and feel like everyday eyewear.
Held at Art + Gallery in Potts Point, the launch event brought together technology, design and experiential storytelling through a curated afternoon experience themed “The Future, In Sight.” Guests including retailers, partners and media were invited to experience Rokid’s latest AI and AR innovations firsthand through live demonstrations, interactive product showcases and guided conversations exploring the future of intelligent wearable technology.
The Australian launch marks another milestone in Rokid’s rapid global expansion, following successful launches across Europe and Southeast Asia, as well as strong momentum in Japan, where Rokid Glasses recently became the most successful AI glasses crowdfunding project in Makuake history. The company has also seen growing traction in North America, with Rokid products now available in more than 100 countries and regions worldwide. Rokid’s international business has grown by 300 percent year-on-year, reflecting accelerating global adoption of its AI wearables platform.
“At Rokid, we believe the next evolution of computing will happen through intelligent wearables that seamlessly integrate into everyday life,” said Zoro Shao, Global General Manager, Rokid. “Australia is an important market for us as consumers increasingly look for technology that feels intuitive, immersive and human-centred. This launch represents more than introducing a product — it is about opening a new chapter for AI-powered interaction and spatial computing in the region.”
“We’ve been watching Rokid’s momentum globally and knew the time was right to bring this technology to Australian consumers. Smart glasses have often felt like a concept rather than an everyday product – Rokid changes that, and we’re excited to introduce it to this market.” said Peter Zhuang, Director, 360 International Trading.
A Complete Smart Glasses Ecosystem
The showcase introduced Rokid’s product lineup to Australian audiences for the first time, led by the flagship Rokid Glasses — lightweight AI-powered smart glasses designed to look and feel like everyday eyewear while delivering a futuristic wearable experience.
Weighing just 49g, the glasses combine dual-eye Micro-LED displays, a 12MP first-person camera, open-ear speakers and a four-mic array into a sleek, IPX4-rated frame built for all-day wear. Users can capture hands-free photos and 1680P video, ask the built-in AI assistant questions on the go, listen to music, receive notifications, and access real-time information directly through the glasses.
Rokid is taking an open approach to AI integration. Rokid Glasses and Rokid AI Glasses Neo are among the first smart glasses to support multiple leading large language models, including Google Gemini and OpenAI ChatGPT, giving users greater flexibility and choice in how they interact with AI.
The device also supports AI-powered object and text recognition, voice-controlled navigation and AR experiences that turn everyday moments into intelligent interactions. Designed for practical daily use rather than experimental tech, Rokid Glasses also support prescription and astigmatism lenses via a magnetic clip-on system, broadening accessibility for a wider range of users.
Rokid AR Spatial adds a companion station for 3D cinema, spatial media capture, and console gaming, while Rokid Glasses Neo offers a more minimal, lens-swappable version available in six colours focused on audio, comfort and AI voice interaction.
Across the ecosystem, Rokid’s platform supports multiple large language models without ecosystem lock-in, reinforcing the company’s vision of creating open, intuitive and human-centred wearable AI experiences. This open approach also extends to Rokid’s global developer and partner ecosystem, which brings together more than 30,000 registered XR developers and partners exploring applications across AI assistance, spatial computing, real-time translation, accessibility, productivity, entertainment and enterprise workflows.
As Rokid expands into Australia, the company sees strong potential to work with local developers, creators, retailers and enterprise solution providers to bring AI-powered wearable experiences into both everyday consumer scenarios and industry-specific use cases.
The event also explored the intersection of art and technology, creating an immersive environment where digital intelligence and creative expression converge. The Australian launch was supported by 360 International Trading, Rokid’s exclusive distribution partner in Australia.
