Well packed, the first thing I noticed about this product was its professional build-quality that focused on comfort thanks to the padded headband and cushioned earcups. The headset can also be adjusted to different head sizes and after long gaming sessions, I found the RIG 500 PRO HX Competitive Gaming Headset extremely comfortable and quite lightweight as just 281 grams. I also like the around ear design as it helps reduce background sound and adds an element of noise cancellation.

The audio quality of the RIG 500 PRO HX is exceptional and thanks to the 50mm drivers, they successfully create a wide spectrum of audio levels with strong mids and highs. Playing games such as Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Fortnite or Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War really helped with the immersion factor on his headset and opposed to external speakers or your TV, the headset definitely enhances the in-game audio, particularly the subtleties of the background sound. However there is a caveat to enjoy all this additional audio quality and you do need to install the Dolby Atmos app to experience the directional audio features.
Furthermore, the bass was exceptional and without distortion that made it ideal for first person shooters Apart from gaming, music and movies were equally as good and I really enjoyed using this headset on the last two episodes Jupiter’s Legacy as it allowed me to become fully immersed into this awesome Netflix series. The in-line controls also allows you to control the volume without too much thought.
If you are using it for non-gaming, the microphone is removable or you can just flip it up to mute it which is a very handy feature. When it comes to the microphone, my friends, colleagues and virtual enemies had no issues in understanding me and reported a clear microphone. Sure, it can’t compare to the higher end of gaming headsets but it did a great job at focusing on my voice and minimising background sound.
