Enables 1000Hz polling rate for ultra-low latency
The Wolverine V3 Pro delivers ultra-low-latency performance, whether wired or wireless. While it lacks Bluetooth, Razer’s 2.4GHz HyperSpeed connection ensures a stable and responsive link. Wired mode unlocks the full 1000Hz polling rate, ideal for competitive gaming where you need that edge. Battery life is the only slight compromise, clocking in at around 15 hours per charge with around 3-hours to fully power a depleted controller. Thankfully, the included 3-metre braided USB-C cable gives you flexibility to charge mid-session. Additionally the Hall Effect thumbsticks are a huge win for reliability, essentially eliminating stick drift. Combine that with on-the-fly trigger adjustments, mechanical bumpers and you’ve got a tool built for dominance in shooters and racing sims alike.
Unboxing Gallery
Unboxing the Wolverine V3 Pro feels like revealing something premium and at this price point, it should. The controller looks and feels pro-grade, with excellent construction and thoughtful button placement. The carrying case neatly stores the cable, wireless dongle, and swappable thumbsticks. Textured grips and balanced weight make long sessions comfortable and secure.
What sets this controller apart is its layout and button architecture. The mecha-tactile buttons for the face, D-pad, and bumpers are fast, responsive and a massive upgrade from standard membrane buttons. The four rear paddles are perfectly positioned to rest under your middle and ring fingers, echoing the Xbox Elite layout. This means you can jump, reload or swap weapons without leaving the thumbsticks, keeping your movement and aim sharp.
On top of that, two extra M-buttons near the triggers are easily reachable with your index fingers, so you don’t disrupt your grip. Trigger performance is superb, with physical switches underneath each trigger letting you switch between ultra-short hair triggers and full-range pulls. For full customization, the Razer Controller App gives you control over everything from button mapping and stick sensitivity to haptics and RGB lighting. Speaking of haptics, they work very well on the Wolverine V3 Pro that is more immersive opposed to the rumble on the Elite Controller.
And for testing? We trialled the Wolverine V3 Pro on both the Xbox Series X and PC – On the PC, Street Fighter 6 and Fortnite felt like fine-tuned machines with this controller. Each kick, punch or block felt fast and powerful with each shot and spring in Fortnite a streamlined experience. Further Forza Motorsport felt really good as I took those corners at high speed and more often than not annihilated my competition. One game that supports this controller well is Dune: Awakening as it maximises the haptics and even though it’s great for combat… it’s the other effects such as the Sandworms which really puts your senses on high alert that really adds to the immersion factor of Dune.
On the Xbox Series X, Games such as Call of Duty Black Ops 6, Gears 5 and Indiana Jones the Great Circle were a joy to play and did my gaming improve? I like to think so! The take home message for gaming was that the controller was super comfortable with excellent button, paddle and thumbstick placement that with its speed, resulted in smoother gaming in each of the games that I played in, including multiplayer.
Final Thoughts?
At $299.95AUD (June 2025), the Razer Wolverine V3 Pro sits firmly in the premium eSports controller market with its top-tier precision, superb tactile feedback and customization that makes it a must for both Xbox and PC gamers looking for serious performance. The only gripe is the battery charge at 10 – 15 hours, however it’s more a moot point as it really doesn’t impact on your gaming unless you’ve forgotten to charge it. Nonetheless the Razer Wolverine V3 Pro successfully aims for the heavens and delivers a high-performance gaming controller that both Xbox and PC gamers will be impressed with and for me, is definitely an evolutionary jump from the Xbox Elite Series 2 Pro Controller.
