PULP, FRIDAY, JAMES TYNION IV, PEACH MOMOKO, & ANAND RK HONORED WITH EISNER AWARD WINS

Image Comics congratulates all the winners and nominees of last week’s Will Eisner Comic Industry Awards and thanks retailers, librarians, media, fans, and members of the industry for the ongoing enthusiasm for creator-owned storytelling.

Pulp by Ed Brubaker, Sean Phillips, and Jacob Phillips was honored with the “Best Graphic Album—New” category award.

James Tynion IV (who co-created/wrote The Department of Truth with artist Martin Simmonds) snagged the award for “Best Writer” while Anand RK (who co-created/drew Blue In Green with writer Ram V) took the award for “Best Painter/Multimedia Artist (interior art),” and popular variant artist Peach Momoko was recognized with the “Best Cover Artist” award.

Ed Brubaker and Marcos Martín won the “Best Digital Comic” award for their series Friday, which will be available in print format for the first time from Image Comics this November.

The Will Eisner Comic Industry awards are voted on by comics industry members and the awards ceremony is held in conjunction with San Diego Comic-Con International every year.
