PROJECT HAIL MARY drives IMAX Melbourne to #1 Australian cinema spot!

Home to Australia’s most immersive cinema experience, IMAX Melbourne has accounted for 3.1% of Australia’s Box Office for PROJECT HAIL MARY with more than 10,000 tickets sold – a significant result for a single screen. On the global stage, IMAX Corp screens delivered over 18% of the film’s $140.9M USD Global Box Office.

The film features almost two hours presented in IMAX’s exclusive 1.43:1 Expanded Aspect Ratio, showcasing 40% more image than the standard cinema screen. IMAX Melbourne is home to the world’s largest 1.43:1 screen (32m x 23m), projecting the largest PROJECT HAIL MARY image on the planet at seven-storeys tall.

‘IMAX Melbourne continues to top Australia’s Box Office charts, with more and more audiences seeking out IMAX exclusive presentations like PROJECT HAIL MARY and recent release, EPiC. As the world’s largest 1.43:1 screen, nowhere else on Earth is the outer-orbit spectacle of Rocky and Grace more immersive or more impactful than at IMAX Melbourne,’ says IMAX Melbourne General Manager, Jeremy Fee.

PROJECT HAIL MARY is now screening at IMAX Melbourne and limited tickets are available from imaxmelbourne.com.au.
