Penguin to publish special hardback of the most-watched Bluey episode ever!

Penguin Random House Australia is delighted to announce that it will be publishing a special hardback edition based on Bluey: The Sign, the record-breaking 28-minute Bluey episode which set the all-time TV broadcast record for ABC Kids channel and ABC iView.

There was a total audience of 6.5 million Australian viewers and 50.3 million minutes viewed on premiere day!

Bluey: The Sign will be publishing globally on 4 November 2025.

Based on the episode, The Sign, the book follows Bluey and her family on their biggest adventure yet. When a For Sale sign pops up in the front yard, Bluey, Bingo and their cousins try to stop the house from selling. Will everything work out so Bluey and Bingo can stay or will they have to move house?

Bluey: The Sign will be a deluxe comic-style chapter book at 144 pages, with the story divided into eight chapters for easy reading. With a striking embossed high-gloss cover and full colour internals, this special edition chapter book will cater for a wide age range.

PRH Australia became Bluey’s official book publisher in April 2019 and was named master publishing partner in September 2020 for the preschool brand, holding global rights in all languages (excluding China and Chinese languages) to the Bluey titles. Since then, the Bluey book program has expanded to encompass multiple formats from board books, picture books and chapter books, to sticker activity, colouring in, craft, magnet, sound as well as two cookbooks.

With over nine million copies sold in Australia and New Zealand, Bluey books have also received industry recognition: The Beach was awarded the 2020 ‘Book of the Year’ – the first time ever in the history of the Australian Book Industry Awards that a children’s picture book has won this prestigious award.

Impressively, there has been a Bluey title in the number one position on Nielsen BookScan’s official Australian bestseller charts for a total of 48 weeks, as well as 305 instances of Bluey titles appearing in the top 10 books.
