ŌURA Expands Preventive Health Capabilities,Empowering Members to Live Better, Longer

ŌURA, maker of the world’s most trusted smart ring, today announced a major expansion of its preventive health ecosystem, introducing Cumulative Stress and a redesigned Oura App featuring improved Cycle Insights, marking a pivotal evolution in ŌURA’s goal to help people live better, longer.

Drawing from peer-reviewed studies and continuous algorithm refinement and designed for everyday use, these new features build on more than a decade of validated research in sleep, stress, and cardiovascular physiology. This scientific foundation strengthens ŌURA’s leadership in personal health technology, elevating Oura Ring from a passive tracker to a trusted early-warning system that helps people take proactive steps toward long-term health.

“Health isn’t limited to what happens in the doctor’s office – it’s built through the choices we make every day,” said Tom Hale, chief executive officer at ŌURA. “Our latest innovations are designed to help Oura Members stay ahead of potential issues by understanding how subtle shifts in stress, biomarkers, and cardiovascular function can evolve over time. By translating quiet signals into clear, actionable insights, ŌURA empowers people to take a proactive, informed approach to their wellbeing.”

App Redesign and Improved Cycle Insights: Offering a more intuitive and intelligent experience

The redesigned Oura App introduces a modern visual language and deeper personalisation that bring each member’s health story to life. The updated interface builds on ŌURA’s trusted foundation while introducing smoother navigation, intelligent curation, and an elevated visual experience across key sections:

  • Today empowers members to make more informed daily decisions. This tab focuses on “One Big Thing,” bringing forward the most relevant scores, insights and Discoveries giving members a clear snapshot throughout their day.
  • The transformed My Health tab gives members a clearer view of their long-term wellbeing, with a new visualisation of strengths, trends, and areas of opportunity for proactive care. In the My Health tab, a new Habits and Routines section helps you connect daily behaviours to measurable health metrics, helping members become more aware of their daily and longer-term behaviours so they can take action before issues arise.
  • Vitals provides at-a-glance views of core health pillars like sleep, stress, and cardiovascular trends anchored in each member’s personalised baselines. Members can quickly switch between daily, weekly, monthly and yearly views of their core metrics. The new design system changes colour depending on your biometrics, providing a quick visual cue to signal how you’re doing each day.

These enhancements underscore ŌURA’s commitment to delivering a product experience that is meaningful, personalised, and effective. As part of this commitment, ŌURA continues to advance its use of AI to transform personal health management – most recently through updates to Oura Advisor, the company’s AI-powered health companion.

ŌURA is broadening the scope of data and insights that Oura Advisor can interpret, making it easier for members to connect the dots when it comes to their health trends. With its latest update, the feature now better integrates data from across the app, including sleep trends, activity changes, as well as dietary insights with Meals

With this redesign comes a series of improvements to Cycle Insights to support more informed decision making around long-term reproductive health. Cycle Insights will expand from a one month to 12-month view of period and fertile window predictions for onboarded Oura Members. Additionally, instead of waiting 60 nights, Oura Members will now receive personalised cycle phase and prediction data from a single night of sleep data.

Cumulative Stress: Understanding the Hidden Toll

ŌURA is expanding its stress insights with the introduction of Cumulative Stress, a new feature designed to help members understand how their bodies accumulate and respond to chronic stress over time.

Unlike estimated or aggregated stress scores, Cumulative Stress provides an objective physiological signal, measured from the past month of data and updated weekly. Developed from real-world physiology and validated against standardised measures like the Perceived Stress Scale and the Copenhagen Burnout Inventory, the feature draws from five key contributors – Sleep continuity, Heart stress-response, Sleep micromotions, Temperature regulation, and Activity impact – to reveal how the body manages and recovers from sustained stress. These insights highlight the often “hidden toll” of unmanaged strain before it manifests as fatigue, burnout, or illness.

Launching alongside Cumulative Stress is a new Stress Management view, which brings together Daytime Stress, Resilience, and Cumulative Stress in one cohesive dashboard. This integrated view offers members a complete picture of their body’s short- and long-term stress patterns, making it easier to identify trends, recover effectively, and maintain balance over time.

“At ŌURA, our goal is to make preventive health accessible and actionable for everyone,” said Dr. Ricky Bloomfield, chief medical officer at ŌURA. “By combining rigorous research with continuous, real-world data, we can identify early patterns that often go unnoticed in traditional healthcare settings. The Cumulative Stress feature, for example, marks an important step forward in translating science into everyday guidance – helping people recognise how small physiological changes today can influence long-term health outcomes.”
