OPPO Unveils New A78 5G with 33W SUPERVOOC and 50MP Main Camera

OPPO today announced the launch of the new A78 5G in Australia, featuring 33W SUPERVOOC  and a 5,000mAh large battery, retailing at an affordable $359. Housed in a sleek design featuring the iconic OPPO Glow, the A78 5G also comes equipped with ColorOS 13, providing convenient and efficient features in a fashion-forward device.

“The A78 5G is OPPO’s latest entry-level game changer. We’ve designed a device that seamlessly combines cutting-edge hardware and software to provide Australians with a phone that’s as reliable as it is stylish. With 33W SUPERVOOC, 50MP camera, and ColorOS 13, the A78 5G is not only economical but also feature-rich. At OPPO, we believe that technology should be accessible to all, and the A78 5G is our latest contribution to that mission,” said OPPO Australia’s Managing Director, Michael Tran.

Reliable performance boosted by charging technology

With 33W SUPERVOOC Flash Charge, the A78 5G’s long-lasting 5,000mAh battery can be charged to 100% in 67 minutes and provides up to 22.85 hours of phone calls on a full charge, helping users live life on the go without battery anxiety.

The A78 5G also includes a series of All-Day AI Power Saving features to help users intelligently manage their battery performance and boost overall battery life. Among these, Super Power Saving mode saves battery for emergency needs, while Super Night Standby learns user sleeping patterns to limit power consumption to just 2% during a single night.

Upgraded photography and immersive entertainment experiences

OPPO A78 5G is equipped with a 50MP main camera to enable users to capture crystal-clear, high-resolution images, alongside a 2MP self-portrait lens and an 8MP front camera for high-quality portraits. To record even more visual details, the A78 5G’s 108MP Ultra-Clear Image uses software algorithms to increase the resolution of images to 108MP, providing an impressive level of clarity. The A78 5G also features a set of smart imaging features like AI Portrait Retouching, AI Scene Enhancement, and Ultra Night Mode to help unleash user creativity.

Equipped with Dual Stereo Speakers, the A78 5G brings users more immersive surround sound, while Real Original Sound Technology delivers optimal sound adjusted for music, videos, and games. On the visual side, the 6.56-inch Colour-Rich Display with 90Hz high refresh rate delivers a smooth and comfortable visual experience for video and game content.

Trendy and durable design

The OPPO A78 5G features a striking design and is decorated with polished rings around the camera module and embellished with a pattern of shining lights that extends to the backplate, creating the sensation of a sparkling beam of light. The iconic OPPO Glow process is also applied to the backplate to create a shimmering look with a fingerprint-free matte finish.

The A78 5G is available in two fresh colours, Glowing Black and Glowing Blue and weighs in at only 188g and measures just 7.99 mm in thickness.

Enhanced hardware and ColorOS 13 create a truly smooth experience

The MediaTek Dimensity 700 platform provides powerful 5G performance on the A78 5G with its efficient Octa-Core Processor. With a 4GB RAM and 128GB ROM configuration, the A78 5G provides plenty of memory and storage space for everyday use and supports up to 1TB SD card expansion. OPPO’s RAM Expansion technology can also further increase the amount of RAM by up to 4GB, delivering a smoother experience when multiple apps are being used at the same time.

Through ColorOS 13, A78 5G users will also enjoy improved efficiency and security on their phone. It includes features like FlexDrop for more efficient multitasking and Three-Finger Translate with Google Lens to translate text in the chosen area of a screenshot.
