New musical feature in the Gemini app

Google is today launching Lyria 3 in the Gemini app – which will be available to all users. While AI has previously struggled with the complexity of layered lyrics and melodies, Lyria 3 combines deep musical awareness with structural coherence to deliver tracks featuring realistic vocals, verses, and choruses. This makes it easy to create custom audio in the Gemini app, whether you want a jingle to celebrate your friend’s birthday or a musical recap of your day to send in the group chat.

Highlights

Personalised Creation: You can prompt with text or upload files (like a PDF or photo) to generate 30-second tracks that fit a specific “vibe”.
Audio Detection: All tracks generated in the Gemini app are embedded with SynthID, Google’s imperceptible watermark for identifying AI-generated content. Google is even launching a new tool today that allows users to upload an audio file to Gemini to verify if it was generated by their AI.
YouTube Dream Track: Google is also bringing Lyria 3 to Dream Track, so creators can better customise the soundtrack for their Shorts on YouTube.

Lyria 3 is available in the Gemini app for all users 18+ and is rolling out on desktop today and to the mobile app over the next several days.
