Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 Coming to PlayStation 5 on December 8
Today during Sony’s “State of Play” broadcast, Asobo Studio, in partnership with Xbox Game Studios, announced that Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 is coming to PlayStation 5 – and preorders are available now. Those who pre-order the Deluxe, Premium Deluxe or Aviator Editions are eligible for Early Access beginning on December 3, and all pre-orders come with the famous Northrop T38-A Talon. General availability is December 8.
For the first time, simmers on PlayStation 5 will be able to test their aviation skills in the world’s most advanced consumer flight simulator, offering an unprecedented level of realism and authenticity. Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 includes:
· Up to 125 highly detailed aircraft, more than 40,000 airports and runways, over 2,000 glider airports, and over 80,000 helipads
· A franchise-first career system that builds skills and provides access to missions in firefighting, search and rescue, aerial construction, agriculture and more
· Experiences like landing challenges, rally races, low altitude challenges, World Photographer mode, and a new Challenge League
· For the first time, players will be able to break the sound barrier in America’s first civil supersonic jet, Boom Supersonic’s demonstrator XB-1
· Exclusively on PlayStation 5: Application of immersive DualSense controller features like adaptive triggers (respond to speed, surface types, sloped resistance) and controller speaker (air traffic control communications)
Anyone looking to contribute to the experience on PlayStation ahead of Early Access and launch is invited to register here for the opportunity to participate in a closed beta. If you’re able to share this play test opportunity in any coverage you create about today’s news, the development team would appreciate it!
Please note that this closed beta is not representative of the final game and is not a preview build. For your editorial planning purposes, confirming that we will provide press and creators with dedicated hands-on time with the sim on PlayStation 5 closer to launch.
