Melbourne International Games Week 2021 pushes boundaries of digital games

Creative Victoria has today announced Melbourne International Games Week (MIGW), running from 2 to 10 October 2021. The biggest games event in APAC, MIGW connects games, technology and culture through a broad range of industry and educational events for professionals and enthusiasts alike. 

This year MIGW will expand its program to be delivered both online and in person with must-attend online industry and enthusiast events including:

  • Australian Game Developer Awards (AGDAs): national event celebrating outstanding games and individual achievements by Australian game developers
  • Games 4 Change: running for the first time ever virtually in the APAC region, the three-day festival will discuss driving real world change using games and immersive media
  • Melbourne’s Queer Games Festival and Awards: online industry event showcasing and celebrating the contemporary, autobiographical, experimental, and political components to worldwide queer games scene
  • PAX Aus Online: Australia’s largest consumer festival for gamers to celebrate gaming culture.
