Meet Emerald: Ultrahuman’s biggest app update yet.

Ultrahuman has officially unveiled its most significant software evolution in over six years: Emerald. This major update transforms the user experience from a collection of fragmented health data points into a single, cohesive narrative centered on longevity. Moving away from complex charts and ambiguous scores, Emerald is designed to bridge the gap between biological data and actionable, daily life—all wrapped in a sleek, unified interface available in both light and dark modes.
At the heart of the new experience is the UltraSphere, the world’s first wearable decision engine. Positioned directly on the home screen, the UltraSphere synthesizes live markers including sleep quality, recovery, heart rate variability (HRV), skin temperature, cycle phases, stress, and glucose levels. Instead of requiring the user to interpret trends, the UltraSphere acts as a personal coach, offering one clear, immediate action. Whether it is a suggestion to soak in ten minutes of daylight to combat an afternoon energy dip, a prompt to cut off caffeine intake by 4:00 PM, or a reminder to dim the lights after sunset, these recommendations are hyper-personalized. By leveraging location data, local weather, and the user’s specific circadian rhythm—whether they are a professional athlete, a busy parent, or a frequent traveler—the UltraSphere provides guidance that is both relevant and adaptive. Visually represented as a liquid, living orb, the display shifts colors in real-time, moving from a healthy green to an amber or deep, Mars-like red depending on the body’s immediate needs. Furthermore, because this processing happens on-device, the insights remain accessible even without an internet connection.
Beyond daily decision-making, Ultrahuman is pushing deeper into longevity tracking. A new “Ultra Age” metric provides a holistic view of health by synthesizing Pulse Age, Blood Age, and Brain Age, allowing users to compare their biological markers against their actual age. This is bolstered by an upgraded VO2 Max algorithm, which has been recalibrated against real-world lab results to move away from generic population averages. The “Slow Your Aging” feature turns these high-level metrics into a concrete, actionable plan, providing users with the tools necessary to actively improve their longevity.
Training and recovery tracking have also seen a significant boost. New firmware enhances heart rate accuracy, and the platform has expanded its ecosystem to integrate data from a wide variety of third-party devices, including Apple Watch, WHOOP, Garmin, Polar, and even AirPods Pro 3. A new “effort picker” allows users to manually input how a training session felt, which the system then incorporates into the user’s recovery score for a more nuanced understanding of their exertion.
To ensure users stay in sync with their biological clock, the “PowerPlugs” system has been refined. It now renders vital markers like caffeine intake windows, vitamin D exposure, and screen time into a single, real-time timeline. This provides users with a granular, second-by-second breakdown of how to maintain optimal alignment with their biology.
Finally, Ultrahuman is introducing “Connections,” a feature designed to foster health-conscious community. Users can now securely share data—including sleep, recovery, steps, HRV, and cycle tracking—with friends and family. By viewing data side-by-side, users can better understand how they influence each other’s habits and support one another in reaching their wellness goals. Emerald is rolling out today for iOS users, with the Android update scheduled to arrive later this week.
