Logitech G: Driving the Future of Motorsport

Logitech G is proud to celebrate the success of Australian driver Ethan Grigg-Gault, whose journey from sim racing prodigy to real-world motorsport champion highlights the powerful connection between esports and sport.

Grigg-Gault recently claimed his second consecutive Excel Nationals Championship title, reinforcing his reputation as one of the brightest rising stars in grassroots racing. His triumph adds to a career built on dedication, innovation, and skills first honed behind the wheel of a Logitech G racing simulator.

“Ethan embodies everything Logitech G stands for – innovation, passion, and performance. His story proves that sim racing isn’t just preparation, it’s an opportunity,” said Daniel Hall, Senior Category Manager at Logitech G ANZ.

Grigg-Gault’s motorsport journey began in his bedroom with a MOMO wheel before progressing to the Logitech G27 as his passion for racing grew.

What started as a hobby quickly became a competitive pursuit as he now finds himself a five-time Official V8 Supercar Series Champion on iRacing and a member of the Logitech G Evolution Racing Team, competing at the highest levels of the Supercars Eseries.

According to Grigg-Gault, sim racing taught him “everything I know before stepping into a real car”. This foundation powered his transition from esports to the track, resulting in him building his own race car and competing in the fiercely competitive Hyundai Excel category.

Real-World Success

  • 2022 – Runner-up in the Victorian Hyundai Excel Championship; winner of the Circuit Excel Racing Association Nationals.
  • 2023 – Defended his crown at Wanneroo Raceway, clinching a second consecutive Excel Nationals title.
  • 2025 – Took victory at the 24/7 Roadservices Circuit Excel Bathurst Challenge at Mount Panorama.

From starting grids to podium finishes, Grigg-Gault continues to prove that esports skills can transfer seamlessly into real-world racing success – three consecutive national titles, with no 2024 event. Grigg-Gault’s rise highlights Logitech G’s vision: high-performance simulation tools are not just for gaming, but a launchpad for the next generation of motorsport talent.
