Liz Katz Interview … not just a cosplayer and gamer extraordinaire!
Impulse Gamer recently interview Liz Katz in February 2015 who has described herself as half nerd and half mystical creature who is best known for her modelling, writing, acting, cosplay and gaming. However by just doing a Google search, you’ll be inundated by her amazing cosplay and very interactive social media sites so we thought it’s time to interview Ms. Katz!
Welcome to Impulse Gamer Liz and let’s talk about Cosplay. So what drew you to cosplay?
I’ve always enjoyed dressing up and playing pretend. Cosplay has just become a pretentious name for make believe.
Who was your first cosplay character?
Either and elf or a psycho clown. I couldn’t tell you for sure.
What was your favorite cosplay to dress like and why?
Recently my favorite was Radical Edward. Edward is just so fun!
Can you tell us about some of the cosplay characters that you might play this year?
I’m very backlogged with shoots! I have Harley Quinn booked, Juliet Starling (Someone sent me the costume a few years ago but I haven’t had the chance to shoot yet), Black Widow, a Drow, and some Fauns.
If you had unlimited budget, which character would you love to cosplay?
Annah from Planescape Torment.
You’re also a gamer, what were your top 3 games of 2014?
I’m actually a terrible gamer, but I love playing games! In 2014 I loved Wasteland 2 (still playing it), Outlast and Five Nights at Freddy’s 2.
Favourite game of all time?
Will we see a Lara Croft reboot cosplay from you this year as you hinted on Twitter?
We shall see!
What are you looking forward to in terms of gaming for 2015?
I’m looking forward to Torment: Tides of Numenera and Pillars of Eternity. Aside from that I’ve been getting back into a lot of point and click adventure games and indie horror titles.
What do you like about Twitch?
It’s the closet I can get to having fans hang out with me! It’s like having an open invitation for my fanbase to chill with me and chat while playing games.
There was some controversy about sexy gamers streaming on Twitch last year, what were your thoughts on this?
No more “controversy” than usual. The mindset of the general public is illogical. Violence is given the thumbs up but a pretty lady in lingerie or a bikini is considered frowned upon by the same people who approve violence in entertainment. Personally I don’t give a flying (you know what) about things other people consider acceptable or not.
I’m not a family friendly person online. Most of youtube is not family friendly either. Kids should not be left unattended to surf the web. End of discussion on that. I rate my current content PG-13. Also keep in mind the amount of terrible and profane things others say… Rarely does a curse word pass through my lips unless it is for comedy and then I usually bleep it.
What’s the funniest thing that has happened on Twitch?
I once (when I first started streaming) went a good 20 minutes with my mic volume off as I was blabbing away not realizing.
What’s your favorite social media and why?
Facebook as it allows me the most freedom to interact with the most people at a time and post photos and videos. It’s like my second homepage.
Tell us about your “true” love who we think starred in Ratatouille?
Templeton and Glitch are my pet ratties. They haven’t been in any major films yet, but they do have IMBD pages!
What’s up for the rest of 2015, given that it’s only 11 months to Christmas now?
This (like most other years) is a traditional period to bigger and better things on the horizon!
Where can fans find out more about you?
Thanks again Liz!
