Summary: This does look grim going into it but it does have an interesting art style and if you are a fan of the writer you will want to see how the story develops.

Interesting

The last children on earth also happen to be vampires who spend their nights playing in the ruins of humanity and catching rats to survive. There is a shocking twist revealed at the end but I’ll leave it to you to find out.

This was a very grim looking and feeling story but was still interesting enough more me to want to know more about this story. The writer Jeff Lemire has had one of his previous stories Sweet Tooth adapted into a Netflix series recently.

Artist Dustin Nguyen does have quite a unique take on this world with mainly black and white artwork with some splashes of colour such as the blood and the crayon drawings on the wall by one of the children.

While there are a lot of apocalyptic comics and graphic novels especially in the last few years, I would recommend this one if you are a fan of the writer and artist and want to see more of their work.

Worth a look even if you are not big into this sort of story usually.
